List of Empire ships (Th–Ty)

The Empire ships were a series of ships in the service of the British Government. Their names were all prefixed with "Empire". Mostly they were used during World War II by the Ministry of War Transport (MoWT), who owned the ships but contracted out their management to various shipping lines. Some ships requisitioned during the Suez Crisis were also given the Empire prefix. They were acquired from a number of sources. Many were built for the MoWT, others obtained from the USA, still others were captured or seized from enemy powers.

Empire Thackeray

Empire Thackeray was a 2,865 GRT cargo ship which was built by Sir J Laing & Sons Ltd, Sunderland. Launched on 1 July 1942 and completed in August 1942. Sold in 1945 to Rodney Steamship Co Ltd and renamed Thackeray. Operated under the management of Anglo-Danubian Transport Co Ltd, London. She ran aground on 27 December 1946 near Outer Cat Island, Argentia, Newfoundland. Refloated on 24 May 1947 and repaired at St John's, Newfoundland. Sold in 1948 to M S Polemis, Greece and rename Theokeetor. Operated under the management of Goulandris Brothers Ltd, Greece. Sold in 1953 to Compagnia Commercial Tansatlantica SA, Panama and renamed Mozart. Operated under the management of S Polemis & Sons Ltd, New York. Sold in 1954 to Compagnia Navigazione Micaela SA and renamed Micaela. Operated under the management of Società Armamento Marittimo, Italy. Renamed Onorato Secondo in 1960. Sold in 1962 to Polska Zegluga Morska, Poland and renamed Jelcz. Scrapped in May 1968 at Ystad Sweden.

Anna (Disney)

Princess Anna of Arendelle is a fictional character who appears in Walt Disney Animation Studios' 53rd animated film Frozen. She is voiced by Kristen Bell as an adult. At the beginning of the film, Livvy Stubenrauch and Katie Lopez provided her speaking and singing voice as a young child, respectively. Agatha Lee Monn portrayed her as a nine-year-old (singing).

Created by co-directors Jennifer Lee and Chris Buck, Anna is loosely based on Gerda, a character of the Danish fairytale The Snow Queen by Hans Christian Andersen. In the Disney film adaptation, Anna is depicted as the princess of Arendelle, a fictional Scandinavian kingdom and the younger sister of Princess Elsa (Idina Menzel), who is the heiress to the throne and possesses the elemental ability to create and control ice and snow. When Elsa exiles herself from the kingdom after inadvertently sending Arendelle into an eternal winter on the evening of her coronation, fearless and faithful Anna is determined to set out on a dangerous adventure to bring her sister back and save both her kingdom and her family.

Anna (singer)

Anna (born Anna Cote-Wursler on July 9, 1987) is a singer of the group Bon-Bon Blanco. She has five brothers and is the youngest sibling in the family. She uses Anna in her solo efforts, but she uses her real name when part of the band. She was born in Tokyo, Japan, but she has American citizenship.

Her husband is Japanese baseball player Manabu Mima.
