MS Wind Perfection

MS Wind Perfection is an accommodation ship owned and operated by C-bed. She was built in 1982 as MS Olau Britannia by Weser Seebeckswerft in Bremerhaven for Olau Line, who used her on Sheerness—Vlissingen service. In 1990 she was sold to Fred. Olsen Lines and renamed MS Bayard for services between Norway and Denmark. In 1991 Fred. Olsen Lines was sold to Color Line and the Bayard passed under their ownership under the name MS Christian IV. In 2008, she was sold to Stella Lines and renamed MS Julia for service between Helsinki and St. Petersburg. This was a failure and after just two months the Julia was laid up. In 2009, she was sold to Fastnet Line and entered service on their Swansea—Cork route in 2010, retaining her earlier name.

History

1982—1990: Olau Line

The Olau Britannia was delivered as the younger sister of MS Olau Hollandia on May 5, 1982. Two days later she was christened by Princess Margaret in Sheerness and placed on the route Sheerness—Vlissingen. In August 1984 the ship collided with the freighter MS Mont Louis in the English channel. Olau Line ordered larger replacements for the Olau Hollandia and Olau Britannia in the late 1980s (confusingly the replacements were also called MS Olau Hollandia and MS Olau Britannia. In preparation for delivery of the second Olau Britannia, the first Olau Britannia was sold to Nordström & Thulin, Sweden on October 4, 1989, to be delivered in 1990. However, already on October 11 Nordström & Thulin resold the ship to Fred. Olsen & Co..

Perfection (board game)

Perfection, originally produced by the Minnesota company Lakeside, is a game by the Milton Bradley company. The object is to put all the pieces into matching holes on the board (pushed down) before the time limit runs out. When time runs out, the board springs up, causing many, if not all, of the pieces to fly out. In the most common version, there are 25 pieces to be placed (the holes form a 5x5 grid) within 60 seconds.

Gameplay

Players, taking alternate turns, must be the quickest to place all 25 shapes into the holes on the game tray. First, all shapes are placed next to the game unit, in a mixed order, with handles facing up. Next, the timer is set for the full 60 seconds and the pop-up tray is pushed down. As soon as the timer starts, the player will quickly start fitting each shape into its matching hole. If the player completes this before the time is up, he/she pushes the STOP button and records the time. If the player fails to place all the shapes into the tray and hit stop before the time is up, the tray will pop up, scattering the pieces around the game tray. The next player then takes a turn. The winner is the player to complete the tray full of shapes in the shortest amount of time.

Perfection (Dannii Minogue song)

"Perfection" is a song performed by Australian singer Dannii Minogue and the Soul Seekerz. It served as the second single from Minogue's fifth album, Club Disco (2007). The song was written by Minogue, Peter Jackson Jr., Gerald Jackson, Rob Davis, Therese Grankvist, Simon Langford, and Julian Napolitano. The song was based on "Turn Me Upside Down" by The Soul Seekerz which sampled "Turn the Beat Around" originally performed by disco singer Vicki Sue Robinson.

It was released as a single on 17 October 2005 in the United Kingdom. It entered the top twenty in the UK and became Minogue's ninth consecutive Upfront Club Chart number one. In Australia, "Perfection" was released on 30 January 2006. The track peaked within the top twenty and became Minogue's eighth top twenty single.

Background and reception

"Perfection" began as an instrumental track by the Soul Seekerz that samples "Turn The Beat Around (Love to Hear Percussions)", which was originally performed by disco singer Vicki Sue Robinson. Simon Langford decided to sample the song after watching the end credits for the film The Specialist. Langford excited by his song idea phoned his writing partner Julian Napolitano. Two days later, Napolitano had completed close to seventy percent of the song, much to the surprise of Langford, who had been preoccupied with paper work. After completing the instrumental track, the group were approached by All Around the World Records, who wanted to use the track for a song by Minogue. Minogue, Rob Davis and Therese Grankvist then wrote lyrics to accompany the music composed by the Soul Seekerz.

Perfection (EP)

Perfection (Chinese: 太完美; pinyin: Tàiwánměi) is the second extended play and third overall release by Mandopop boy band Super Junior-M. It was released in Taiwan on 25 February 2011 by Avex Taiwan, to be followed by other Asian countries in March 2011. This is the group's second EP right after Super Girl in 2009 and their first release not to include Han Geng, but instead include two additional members from the main group, Super Junior: Sungmin and Eunhyuk.

The teaser photos of the group for the EP was released on Avex Taiwan's homepage on 12 February 2011. The lead single and title track, "Perfection" (which was written by the songwriters behind TVXQ's "Mirotic", BoA's "Eat You Up" and f(x)'s "Nu ABO") premiered for airplay on Hit Fm Taiwan on 14 February 2011. The music video teaser was unveiled on 14 February 2011 on SM's YouTube Channel, followed by the music video on 21 February 2011.

The EP was repackaged on April 2011 with a new track and Korean versions of the EP's songs. The Korean version of the title track was included as a bonus track in Super Junior's fifth studio album, "Mr. Simple".

Wind Mobile

Wind Mobile is a Canadian wireless telecommunications provider operated by Globalive. It was one of several new mobile carriers launched in Canada after a government initiative to encourage competition in the wireless sector, alongside Mobilicity (later acquired by Rogers Communications) and Public Mobile (later acquired by Telus). With 940,000 active subscribers, Wind is Canada's fourth-largest mobile operator.

Wind initially launched mobile data and voice services in the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area, Ontario on December 16, 2009 and two days later in Calgary, Alberta. Since then, Southern Ontario has been the main target of network expansion: first with Ottawa in Q1 2011, and then with about half a dozen additional regions, the most recent being Brantford on July 3, 2014. In Western Canada, coverage was added to Edmonton, Alberta and has expanded around Edmonton to include Sherwood Park, Fort Saskatchewan, St. Albert and Edmonton International Airport; additionally, British Columbia was also added for most of Greater Vancouver area plus Abbotsford and Whistler.

Air (also sometimes called Wind) is often seen as a universal power or pure substance. Its fundamental importance to life can be seen in words such as aspire, inspire, perspire and spirit, all derived from the Latin spirare.

Greek and Roman tradition

Air is one of the four classical elements in ancient Greek philosophy and science. According to Plato, it is associated with the octahedron; air is considered to be both hot and wet. The ancient Greeks used two words for air: aer meant the dim lower atmosphere, and aether meant the bright upper atmosphere above the clouds.Plato, for instance writes that "So it is with air: there is the brightest variety which we call aether, the muddiest which we call mist and darkness, and other kinds for which we have no name...." Among the early Greek Pre-Socratic philosophers, Anaximenes (mid-6th century BCE) named air as the arche. A similar belief was attributed by some ancient sources to Diogenes Apolloniates (late 5th century BCE), who also linked air with intelligence and soul (psyche), but other sources claim that his arche was a substance between air and fire.Aristophanes parodied such teachings in his play The Clouds by putting a prayer to air in the mouth of Socrates.

WIND Hellas

WIND Hellas, formerly STET Hellas, is an integrated telecommunications provider with headquarters in Athens, Greece. WIND is the 3rd largest mobile operator in Greece (after Cosmote and Vodafone) with more than 4.4 million active subscribers (September 2010).

Background

Origins

STET Hellas originated in 1992 with the establishment of TELESTET, a subsidiary of the Italian company STET, now Telecom Italia. On September 30, 1992 the Greek Ministry of Transport and Communications issued a license to STET to create a national mobile telephony services network (GSM). The company invested the sum of 30 billion drachmas (about 88 million Euros) to create the network. This constituted one of the biggest investments in Greece since the end of the Second World War. Commercial operation started on June 29, 1993 when the first call from a mobile phone took place in the country.

In 1998 TELESTET was the first Greek mobile telephony company to be listed in international stock markets, the NASDAQ in New York City and the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
