m1 (Also called M Egy or MTV1) is a Hungarian television channel own and operated by Magyar Televízió. It is also transmitted in high definition.

It was 24 hours in 2000 along with m2. But cancelled that project in 2002.

It is the most watched national channel in Hungary and its transmission receiving is 97%.

• 1957-1980: Opens between 8:00am and 6:00pm and closes between 10:30pm and 12:00am.
• 1980-1984: Opens between 8:00am and 6:00pm and closes between 11:00pm and 2:00am.
• 1984-1989: Opens at 8:00am and closes between 12:00am and 2:00am.
• 1989-1994: Opens between 5:20am and 9:00am and closes between 12:00am and 2:00am.
• 1994-2002: Opens between 5:10am and 6:45am and closes between 12:00am and 2:00am.
• 2002-2005: Opens at 5:35am and closes between 12:00am and 2:00am.
• 2005-2008: Opens at 5:10am and closes between 12:00am and 2:00am.
• 2008-2010: Opens at 5:20am and closes between 2:00am and 4:00am.
• 2010 onwards: Opens between 5:00am and 6:00am and closes between 2:00am and 4:00am.

• On 12 December 2009 m1 closed at 22:30 due to technical error.

Noon program block [link]

During 1994-1997 there was a noon program block from 12:00 to 15:30. It is first program with clock before the program. It is entertainment programmes without advertisements.

School programs [link]

During 1971-1989 there was a school program in daytime. This made startup come at 8am instead of 6pm. During weekend and summer and winter they started at 6pm with m2.

In 1989, school programming was replaced with morning programs from between 5:40am and 9:00am. It is closed at 11:00-15:30. Later, They put the information program at 11:00-12:00 and noon program at 12:00-15:30. So the programs will be at 5:40 to 23:25 or 2:00.
