Lynch Quarry Site

The Lynch Quarry Site, also known as the Lynch Knife River Flint Quarry, and designated by the Smithsonian trinomial 32DU526, is a historic pre-Columbian flint quarry located near Dunn Center, North Dakota, United States. The site was a major source of flint found at archaeological sites across North America, and has been estimated to be a mine source of the material from 11,000 BCE to 1600 CE. The site was designated a National Historic Landmark in 2011.

Knife River flint was a prized toolmaking material among North America's prehistoric population, as it is particularly easy to work into projectile points, knives, and scraping tools. Materials from Knife River quarries have been found at prehistoric archaeological sites in northern Canada, New York, and New Mexico, and would have been traded by area tribes for other materials such as shell, obsidian, cloth, and (in the early European contact period) metal weapons. The Lynch site, whose known extent is at least 690 acres (280 ha) has an estimated 20,000 pits from which flint was quarried. The pits range in depth from 3 to 10 feet (0.91 to 3.05 m), and are accompanied by spoil piles. It is located on the banks Spring Creek, a tributary of the Knife River. The site is remarkably well preserved, despite agricultural activity over parts of it, and the digging of shafts for coal mining in some areas. At the time of the site's nomination as a National Historic Landmark, detailed examination of the site for specific work areas had not taken place; the entire site is covered with chipped and flaked stone.

Lynch (band)

Lynch. (stylized as lynch.) is a Japanese Nagoya kei metal band formed in 2004. The band's concept is "uniting heavy music with beautiful melodies." As of 2015, the group has released two EPs, eight albums, and 15 singles.

History

Lynch. was formed in 2004 when Reo (ex-GULLET) joined with Hazuki (formerly in Deathgaze) and Asanao in Nagoya, Japan. With Yukino (formerly in Deadman) as a support bassist, they released their first album on the label Marginal Works and toured nationally. In 2006, Yusuke joined as a second guitarist.

On October 11, 2007, the band signed to CLJ Records, a European record label dedicated to releasing Japanese rock artists abroad. Since 2012 Lynch. are signed to Okami Records, a European record label releasing the highlights of the Japanese music scene apart from Visual Kei. Their music is available worldwide ever since then.

In 2009, Lynch. went on a three-man tour with heidi. and Sadie. On May 27, 2009, they announced via their official site the release of their fourth full-length album, "Shadows", which was released on July 8, 2009.

Sitež

Sitež is a settlement in the Municipality of Majšperk in northeastern Slovenia. It lies in the Haloze Hills on the regional road from Majšperk to Žetale. The area is part of the traditional region of Styria. It is now included with the rest of the municipality in the Drava statistical region.

SITA (originally Société industrielle de transport automobile) is the main brand representing Suez Environnement's waste subsidiaries in Europe, North America, the Asia Pacific zone and Australia.
