Lumi is a Lebanese electro-pop and glam punk band composed of Marc Codsi and Mayaline Hage. LUMI started rehearsing in January 2005, and the group's first live appearance was in August the same year. The band's style is a mixture of electro and rock and has gained quick attention in Beirut. After a few concerts in Beirut nightclubs like The Basement and B018, they released an self-produced EP. In 2006 during the Israeli invasion of Lebanon they wrote the song "Not Our War" and at the end of that summer they shot a video for their track "Don't F with my cat" with director Sary Sehnaoui.
In 2007 they signed with EMI Arabia, which led them to record their first album in Düsseldorf with producer Andi Thomas from Mouse on Mars. The album Two Tears in Water was released in June 2008.
They have toured extensively in Lebanon, Paris, London and Berlin.
+/-, or Plus/Minus, is an American indietronic band formed in 2001. The band makes use of both electronic and traditional instruments, and has sought to use electronics to recreate traditional indie rock song forms and instrumental structures. The group has released two albums on each of the American indie labels Teenbeat Records and Absolutely Kosher, and their track "All I do" was prominently featured in the soundtrack for the major film Wicker Park. The group has developed a devoted following in Japan and Taiwan, and has toured there frequently. Although many artists append bonus tracks onto the end of Japanese album releases to discourage purchasers from buying cheaper US import versions, the overseas versions of +/- albums are usually quite different from the US versions - tracklists can be rearranged, artwork with noticeable changes is used, and tracks from the US version can be replaced as well as augmented by bonus tracks.

Lumi is a Los Angeles-based company founded by Jesse Genet and Stephan Ango that manufactures branded goods such as packaging, rubber stamps and decals. The company got its start developing Inkodye, a photo-reactive vat dye that develops its color through exposure to UV or sunlight. The process was designed to provide a simple do it yourself alternative to screen printing.
Jesse Genet began experimenting with different printing techniques as a teenager in 2004, attempting to print photographs on cotton T-shirts. Unsatisfied with the results of screen printing and dye-sublimation she pursued her research and found what became a precursor to Inkodye, a chemical formula from the 1950s owned by a retired engineer. After meeting Stephan Ango while studying at Art Center College of Design, the pair acquired the chemical formula and began modernizing it.
Lumi launched a Kickstarter campaign on December 23, 2009 to fund R&D of the technology. The company raised $13,597 and rewarded its backers with wallets, bags and other products printed using the process. The project was an early success for the Kickstarter platform and went on to win Kickstarter's Best Design Project of 2010.
