Luis Diaz is a former New York State Assembly member for the 86th district, first elected in 2002 (when the district was first formed). He is a Democrat. He stood down at the 2008 elections.
Diaz was born Luis M. Díaz in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico. Prior to his election served as executive director of a Bronx social enterprise organization. He had also worked as an aide to Democratic Assemblyman Peter Rivera of the 76th.
In 2008, he resigned as New York State assemblyman to take a community affairs position in the administration of Gov. David A. Paterson.

Luis Augusto Díaz Mayorca (born August 20, 1983 in Caracas) is a volleyball player from Venezuela, who won the gold medal with the men's national team at the 2003 Pan American Games in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. In the final his team defeated Cuba 3-0 (25-23, 25-18, 25-20).
He won with his team the gold medal at the 2005 Bolivarian Games.
Luis Hernán Díaz Villegas (born 4 November 1945) is a former Colombian cyclist. He reached the quarter final in the individual pursuit event at the 1972 Summer Olympics.
