"Lovesick" is a jazz pop song by American pop singer–songwriter Priscilla Renea, released as the second and final single from her debut album, Jukebox on January 12, 2010. The song is a jazz-influenced song with traces of R&B and pop and is lyrically about forbidden love.
The song's lyrics, written solely by Renea, have been interpreted as light-hearted and about forbidden love. Renea has stated that the song was inspired by the music she heard growing up in Vero Beach, Florida.
A music video for the song was originally planned to be released in February 2010, but its release was canceled because the album received low sales. Renea released videos of her fans singing the song with her as a version of a music video instead.
A Single Man, released in 1978, is the twelfth official album release for Elton John. It is the first album where Gary Osborne replaced Bernie Taupin as lyricist.
A Single Man is the first of John's albums to not feature long-time collaborators Bernie Taupin (lyricist) and Gus Dudgeon (producer). The only returning members of his band are percussionist Ray Cooper and guitarist Davey Johnstone; the latter only played on one song on the album. Paul Buckmaster would not appear on another Elton John album until Made in England. Unlike previous compositions in which lyrics came first, John began writing melodies at a piano and an album unintentionally became of it. This was John's first in which he started singing in a lower register. "Song for Guy" was written as a tribute to Guy Burchett, a young Rocket messenger who was killed in a motorcycle accident.
The album was recorded in Autumn 1977, and then from January to September 1978, at The Mill, Cookham, Berks.
The photo for the front cover was taken in the Long Walk, which is part of Windsor Great Park in Berkshire. The inside cover shows John in a Jaguar XK140 FHC.
"Lovesick" is the sixth single by Dutch singer EliZe. The song is taken from her second album entitled More Than Meets the Eye. The single had its most success in Bulgaria, where it reached the #1 position in the national Top 40 and stayed there for six weeks.
The swifts are a family, Apodidae, of highly aerial birds. They are superficially similar to swallows, but are not closely related to any of the passerine species. Swifts are placed in the order Apodiformes, which they share with hummingbirds. The treeswifts are closely related to the true swifts, but form a separate family, the Hemiprocnidae.
Resemblances between swifts and swallows are due to convergent evolution, reflecting similar life styles based on catching insects in flight.
The family name, Apodidae, is derived from the Greek ἄπους (ápous), meaning "footless", a reference to the small, weak legs of these most aerial of birds. The tradition of depicting swifts without feet continued into the Middle Ages, as seen in the heraldic martlet.
Some species of swifts are among the fastest animals on the planet, with some of the fastest measured flight speeds of any bird.
Taxonomists have long classified swifts and treeswifts as relatives of the hummingbirds, a judgement corroborated by the discovery of the Jungornithidae (apparently swift-like hummingbird-relatives) and of primitive hummingbirds such as Eurotrochilus. Traditional taxonomies place the hummingbird family (Trochilidae) in the same order as the swifts and treeswifts (and no other birds); the Sibley-Ahlquist taxonomy treated this group as a superorder in which the swift order was called Trochiliformes.
D12, an initialism for The Dirty Dozen, is an American hip hop group from Detroit, Michigan. D12 has had chart-topping albums in the United States, United Kingdom, and Australia. D12 was formed in 1996, and achieved mainstream success after Eminem rose to international fame. D12 released the album Devil's Night in 2001 and D12 World in 2004, spawning numerous hits such as "Fight Music", "Purple Pills", "My Band", "How Come" and "Shit on You" throughout that period. Since 2006, Eminem's hiatus and the death of the member Proof resulted in them being less active in subsequent years.
In order to make up the dozen, it was decided the six members at the time would each create an alter-ego. Proof's was Dirty Harry, Bizarre's was Peter S. Bizarre, Kuniva's was Hannz G. (which later became Rondell Beene), Kon Artis's was Mr. Porter, Bugz' was Robert Beck and Eminem created the famous character Slim Shady.
In 1997, they released their debut album, The Underground EP, which was recorded between 1996 and 1997. In 1997 and through 1998, its members began establishing reputations locally. Bizarre was named Inner City Entertainment's "Flava of the Week" and went on to release an album called Attack of the Weirdos. Along with Eminem, Rah Digga and Young Zee, he became an honorary member of The Outsidaz. Proof won a freestyling competition run by The Source. In 1999, Bugz released an EP called These Streets EP, and made several appearances on other rapper's songs.
Killed--but i'm still struggling, to hold on to
You--i know i'm failing. it feels like my arms
Are tied to my hips, and i, just tripped i'm
Falling--
But not because i'm lovesick or am i lovesick?
It felt so warm with you and now my own bed
Feels foreign to me--i guess i just hate things,
That are empty and i'm sleepy--
But not because i'm lovesick or am i lovesick?
It seems like my world is falling to it's end,
It seems like the color gray.
Pictures in perfect color with words to listen to,
That's the scene i saw--and now, that my hope is
Crushed, and fingernails are gone, i'm bleeding--
But not because i'm lovesick or am i lovesick?
Please don't hold out on me, the distance cant be
That far, it can't be--this is confusing me, what's
Wrong with me? what's wrong, with me?
I'm not lovesick or could i be? i'm so--confused
