"Flight" is a 1957 short story by Doris Lessing. It deals with an old man who is against his eighteen-year-old granddaughter getting married, bringing him into conflict with not only her and her fiance, but also his daughter, who was herself married even younger and whose other three daughters have already been married.
1409 (Meteorological) Flight was formed on 1 April 1943 to provide meteorological information for RAF Bomber Command and the USAAF. Equipped with unarmed de Havilland Mosquito aircraft, the crews of the Flight undertook long range meteorological reconnaissance flights until the end of the Second World War in Europe and continued in this role until 1946.
Formed at RAF Oakington as part of the disbandment of 521 Squadron, the Flight was part of No. 8 Group RAF, the Pathfinders. Flying as single aircraft the missions were codenamed PAMPA (Photorecce And Meteorological Photography Aircraft).
In January 1944 the Flight moved to RAF Wyton where it remained until July 1945 when it moved to RAF Upwood. In October 1945 the Flight was transferred to No. 47 Group RAF and partially re-equipped with Consolidated Liberator aircraft in addition to its Mosquitos at RAF Lyneham. The Flight was disbanded at Lyneham in May 1946.
During the war the Flight flew 1,364 operations for a loss of only 3 aircraft.

The 457 plan is a type of nonqualified, tax advantaged deferred-compensation retirement plan that is available for governmental and certain non-governmental employers in the United States. The employer provides the plan and the employee defers compensation into it on a pre-tax basis. For the most part the plan operates similarly to a 401(k) or 403(b) plan most people are familiar with in the US. The key difference is that unlike with a 401(k) plan, there is no 10% penalty for withdrawal before the age of 59½ (although the withdrawal is subject to ordinary income taxation). 457 plans (both governmental and non-governmental) can also allow independent contractors to participate in the plan where 401(k) and 403(b) plans cannot.
Participants in government-sponsored section 457(b) plans may be given the opportunity to treat elective deferrals as Roth contributions.
The PLAN is a preliminary ACT test that is generally administered in the sophomore year. ACT, Inc. claims that it predicts success on the ACT. It is viewed as the ACT's equivalent of the PSAT.
The test consists of four separate parts: an English (grammar) section, a Math section, a Reading section, and a Science section. Each portion of the test has a different number of questions and a different amount of time allotted.
The PLAN test is scored between 1-32 and is determined by a composite scoring system much like that of the ACT, based on the scores received on each of the categories of the test.
Stop your heart, with every stray look
Sear the tears, and break the mold
The world will listen to your message
Hate and pain will soon be lessened
Show what is worth holding onto
Make this song sing for
Everything that has a heart beat
This song, it beats, for you
Hate your hate, Find your way
Live for tomorow, Love for today
Laws will find, their way to break you
The world will try to bring you down
But you must keep on moving forward
Only then can we achieve more
If you thought that life was easy
You have never lived in
Parallel with the real world
This song could change the globe
