"Love You Inside Out" is a 1979 hit single for the Bee Gees, from their album Spirits Having Flown. It reached number one on the Billboard Hot 100 for one week in June 1979, interrupting Donna Summer's "Hot Stuff". It was the ninth and final number-one hit for the Bee Gees in the US. In the UK, the single peaked at no.13 for two weeks.

Background

A slow funk groove number. They sent off this track to their manager Robert Stigwood a special version with a different line "backwards and forwards with my cock hanging out" (which was different on the released version which was, 'backwards and forwards with my heart hanging out').

Love You (album)

Love You (also known as The Beach Boys Love You) is the 21st studio album by American rock band the Beach Boys, released on April 11, 1977. Originally conceived as a Brian Wilson solo album entitled Brian Loves You, the album is almost entirely written and performed by Wilson, with the other band members mainly serving as additional lead vocalists. Peaking at number 53 on US record charts, the album was received with a sharp divide between fans and critics. One single was issued from the album: "Honkin' Down the Highway" backed with "Solar System".

Penned during a process of mental and drug rehabilitation for Wilson, Love You has been praised by reviewers for the album's honest, unpretentious lyrics, and has been described as a portrait into his sense of self in 1977. Heavily reliant on 1970s analog synthesizers, the album has been recognized as an early work of synthpop, a forerunner to new wave experiments, and an idiosyncratic and creative oddity in the Beach Boys' canon. A followup album, Adult Child, was completed by the group, but left unreleased.

The Madcap Laughs

The Madcap Laughs is the debut solo album by the English singer-songwriter Syd Barrett. It was recorded after Barrett had left Pink Floyd in April 1968. The album had a chequered recording history, with work beginning in mid-1968, but the bulk of the sessions taking place between April and July 1969, for which five different producers were credited − including Barrett, Peter Jenner (1968 sessions), Malcolm Jones (early-to-mid-1969 sessions), and fellow Pink Floyd members David Gilmour and Roger Waters (mid-1969 sessions). Among the guest musicians are Willie Wilson from (Gilmour's old band) Jokers Wild and Robert Wyatt of the band Soft Machine.

The Madcap Laughs, released in January 1970 on Harvest in the UK, and on Capitol Records in the US, enjoyed minimal commercial success on release, reaching number 40 on the UK's official albums chart, while failing to hit the US charts. It was re-released in 1974 as part of Syd Barrett (which contained The Madcap Laughs and Barrett). The album was remastered and reissued in 1993, along with Barrett's other albums, Barrett (1970) and Opel (1988), independently and as part of the Crazy Diamond box set. A newly remastered version was released in 2010.

Inside/Out (TV series)

Inside/Out is a 1970s educational television series.

The show was produced in 1972 and 1973 by the National Instructional Television Center (NIT), in association with various contributing stations, such as KETC in St. Louis, Missouri, WVIZ in Cleveland Ohio, WNVT-TV in Northern Virginia, and The Ontario Educational Communications Authority. It was one of the last programs to be produced by NIT; the organisation would be reformulated as the "Agency for Instructional Television" (AIT) in April 1973.

Funding for Inside/Out was provided by grants from 32 different educational agencies within the USA and Canada, with additional support from Exxon Corporation.

Overview of series

Inside/Out was an anthology series of 15-minute shorts that were designed to teach children about social issues. Instead of resorting to happy endings, as many shows of this kind had done, Inside/Out typically had cliffhanger endings, leaving the viewers to draw their own conclusions as to what they would do in similar situations.

Inside/Out is a 1997 American drama film directed by Rob Tregenza. It was screened in the Un Certain Regard section at the 1997 Cannes Film Festival.
