List of Toy Story characters

This is a list of characters from Disney/Pixar's Toy Story Franchise which consists of the animated films Toy Story (released 1995), Toy Story 2 (1999), and Toy Story 3 (2010).

Woody

Sheriff Woody Pride is a cowboy doll, and Andy's favorite toy. Appearing in all three Toy Story films, he usually acts as the leader of the gang. His rivalry with Buzz forms the basis of the plot of the first film. In Toy Story 2, he is stolen at a yard sale by a toy collector, causing the other toys to embark on a rescue mission. In Toy Story 3 he and the other toys are shipped to a daycare center.

Buzz Lightyear

Buzz Lightyear is a "space ranger" action figure, and wears a space suit with various features such as retractable wings and transparent helmet, a laser "weapon," and various sound effects. In the films, he acts as Woody's second-in-command. In Toy Story, he begins the series believing he is a real space ranger (the other toys are aware that they are toys) and develops a rivalry with Woody, who resents him for getting more attention as the newcomer. During the film, he comes to realize that he is just a toy, and eventually becomes good friends with Woody. He is extremely loyal to his friends. During his time trapped at Sid's house, Hannah, Sid's sister, called Buzz Mrs. Nesbit. In Toy Story 2, Buzz goes to save Woody from Al with Potato Head, Hamm, Rex, and Slink (Slinky Dog) where he gets stuck in the Buzz Lightyear aisle in Al's Toy Barn by another Buzz and finds out for himself what he was really like. In Toy Story 3, a relationship begins to develop between Buzz and Jessie. He is particularly open with his affection when switched to "Spanish mode."

Rex is a shoot 'em up video game published by Martech in 1988 for the ZX Spectrum and Amstrad CPC.

Gameplay

The player controls Rex, a 'rino-sapien' mercenary, hired to eliminate the humans that have built a Great Tower in a place called Zenith. Action takes place in a flip-screen platformed cavern complex — Rex can jump, shoot and activate a shield to block incoming attacks. Enemies include fixed gun turrets and human soldiers; shooting the latter initiates a 'multi recoil system' in which the defeated soldier's body continues to recoil until the player's bullets stop hitting it. Destroyed enemies leave behind Energy Bubbles, which can be used to upgrade Rex's weapon.

Critical reaction

Rex was a critical success, with Your Sinclair awarding 9 out of 10,CRASH awarded 82% and Sinclair User awarded 88%. The difficulty of Rex is highlighted, drawing comparisons with Cybernoid, but reviewers were also impressed with the intricate graphics and level of action.

The Light

Rex was developed by a programming team consisting of Neil Harris, Richard Allen and John Anderson. After working for IBM, they all left to form The Light, choosing the Z80 as their development platform. Neil and John were coders, whilst Richard worked on graphics.Rex was the only game they developed.

Jana Kramer

Jana Rae Kramer (born December 2, 1983) is an American actress and country music singer. She is best known for her role as Alex Dupre on the television series One Tree Hill. Kramer began a country music career in 2012 with the single "Why Ya Wanna" from her self-titled debut album for Elektra Records.

Early life

Kramer was born in Rochester Hills, Michigan, United States, to Nora and Martin Kramer. She is of German Chilean, Croatian and French ancestry. Jana has one brother Steve who is a police officer. Jana attended Rochester Adams High School. She speaks some German.

Career

2002–11: acting career and record deal

In 2002, Kramer made her acting debut in the low-budget independent horror film Dead/Undead. The following year Kramer guest appeared on All My Children, which marked Kramer's television debut. Kramer has since continued to appear in a number of television shows such as CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, Grey's Anatomy, Private Practice and CSI: NY. She has also had small supporting roles in films such as Click, Prom Night and Spring Breakdown.

Love (given name)

Love, or more uncommon Lowe, is a Swedish version of the French name Louis. It can also be a version of Lovisa, and can thus be used both for men and women, although it is more common with men.

The name is uncommon amongst adults; there are less than 200 men older than 30 in Sweden with the name, but several hundreds from every cohort born in the 1990s. 31 December 2009, there was in total 6,058 men in Sweden with the name Love/Lowe, of which 2,953 had it as first nnameame, the rest as middle name. There were also 531 women with the name, of which 128 had it as given name.

In 2003, 344 boys got the name, and of those, 182 got it as given name. The same year, 24 girls got the name, of which 6 got it as given name.

Tennis scoring system

A tennis tournament is organized into matches between players (for singles tournaments) or teams of two players (for doubles tournaments). The matches of a tournament are grouped into rounds. In round 1, all players (or teams) are paired and play against each other in matches. The losers are said to leave, or be out. They no longer compete in the tournament (this is single elimination). The winners are again paired to play in the matches of the next round. The tournament continues until the quarterfinal round (having eight players or teams playing in pairs), then the semifinal round (having four players or teams playing in pairs), and finally the final round (having only two players or teams) are played. The winner of the final round is declared the winner of the entire tournament.

A tennis match is composed of points, games, and sets. A match is won when a player or a doubles team wins the majority of prescribed sets. Traditionally, matches are either a best of three sets or best of five sets format. The best of five set format is typically only played in the Men's singles or doubles matches at Majors and Davis Cup matches.
