LOVE FM (Belize)

LOVE FM is a radio station based in Belize City, operating since February 14, 1993. It is part of RSV Media Center, whose chairman is Rene Villanueva Sr.

It broadcasts family-oriented programs and mature, contemporary style music.

History

Love FM was the first private radio station to cover the entire nation of Belize.

Love FM guided the nation through the national emergencies brought on by Hurricanes Mitch, Keith, Chantal and Iris. In many villages, especially those in Southern Belize, Love FM's signal was the only one they could receive. An independent survey conducted by British Forces in 2006 showed that despite the fact that there are 36 radio stations in Belize today some 66.6 percent of those surveyed still rely on Love FM during national emergencies such as in Hurricane Dean in 2007.

Love FM (Japan)

Love FM is a commercial radio station based in north Kyushu island, Japan, broadcasting on 76.1 FM from the Fukuoka park side studio to the Kyushu area. Love FM airs mostly music covering a wide range of styles. It is also the third launched international multiple-language radio station in Japan.

First "broadcasting operational company (Hoso Jigyosha)" registered under "broadcasting license (Hoso Jigyo Menkyo)" at launch of the service, was "Kyushu International FM K.K. Kyushu International FM Inc. (株式会社九州国際エフエム, Kabushiki-gaisha Kyu-shu- Kokusai Efu-Emu)", based in Tenjin, Fukuoka-shi, Fukuoka-ken.

Since January 1, 2011, the registrant for this broadcasting operational company has been updated under the name of "Tenjin FM K.K.", which used to run a community FM station called "FREE WAVE".

Programs are broadcast in 10 languages to 8,000,000 Japanese and 50,000 foreigners. The auditory areas are Fukuoka/ Saga/ Kumamoto/ Oita/ Nagasaki 76.1 MHz, and Fukuoka nishi 82.5 MHz, a part of Yamaguchi/ Kitakyushu 82.7 MHz.

Épée

The modern épée (/ˈɛpeɪ/) derives from the 19th century Épée de Combat, (itself a derivative of the French small-sword), and is the largest and heaviest of the three weapons used in sport fencing. Épée is French for "sword".

As a thrusting weapon the épée is similar to a foil (compared to a sabre), but has a stiffer blade which is triangular in cross-section with a V-shaped groove called a fuller, has a larger bell guard, and is heavier. The technique however, is somewhat different, as there are no rules regarding priority and right of way. In addition, the entire body is a valid target area.

Background

While modern sport fencing has three weapons (foil, épée, and sabre), each a separate event, épée is the only one in which the entire body is the valid target area. Épée is the heaviest of the three modern fencing weapons. Fencing matches with the épée require a large amount of concentration, accuracy and speed. Since the entire body is a target, a successful épée fencer must be able to anticipate their opponent's moves and strike their opponent at the correct time.
