LoveJo2 (stylized as #LoveJo2) is the third extended play by American recording artist JoJo. Released on December 18, 2015, it is a follow up to 2014's LoveJo. The four-track EP was released in honor of the singer's 25th birthday and as a lead up to her third studio album.
The song "Thinkin Out Loud" was originally released as an interlude on JoJo's second mixtape, Agápē (2012). JoJo originally stated that insecurity about her vocal performance caused her to not release the song in full. The EP's second track is a cover of Soul II Soul's 1989 single "Back to Life (However Do You Want Me)". "Right On Time" samples Donna Lewis's 1996 single "I Love You Always Forever." JoJo has since removed "Right On Time" along with a 'Tour Video' of the song due to Donna Lewis threatening legal action.
My inner demons compel me to be here
Your cheeks are flush like rose petals
You're consumed with rage
But I'm consumed with you
Eyes intertwine through the haze
Intoxicated by your bloodshot stare
In all of my dreams I never thought I'd see
A face that could launch a thousand ships
And the music was like wind in your hair
The moonlight caressed your silhouette
Kiss of ocean mist is in the air
Why must God punish me this way?
Lay down my hand, the next move is yours
As you undress me with your frozen eyes
In all of my dreams I never thought I'd see
An endless love to share my blue lagoon
And the music was like wind in your hair
The moonlight caressed your silhouette
Kiss of ocean mist is in the air
Why must God punish me this way?
Happiness is hard to come by but I've had my fair share
The satin sheets, the lemon peels, the minor keys, the major pills
We've climbed the mountain
Saw the top and planted the apple seed
And can't you see we could've had it all
And the music was like wind in your hair
The moonlight caressed your silhouette
Kiss of ocean mist is in the air
Why must God punish me?
And the music was like wind in your hair
The moonlight caressed your silhouette
Kiss of ocean mist is in the air
Why must God punish me this way?
Why must God punish me this way?
