Radio edit

In music, a radio edit is a modification, typically truncated, to make a song more suitable for airplay, whether it be adjusted for length, profanity, subject matter, instrumentation, or form. Radio edits may also be used for commercial single versions, which may be denoted as the 7" version. However, not all "radio edit" tracks are played on radio.

Editing for time

Radio edits often shorten a long song in order to make it more commercially viable for radio stations. The normal length for songs played on the radio is 3 to 4 minutes. Occasionally, the song will simply fade out earlier, common on tracks with long instrumental endings. For instance, the radio edit of 'Heroes' by David Bowie fades in shortly before the beginning of the third verse and fades out shortly before the vocal vamping at the end of the song. Another example is B.o.B's song, "Nothin' On You" featuring Bruno Mars, whose radio edit skips the first 5 seconds & starts with the 6th second in which Bruno Mars starts singing the first chorus. The second half of the first chorus is sometimes skipped, along with the last 24 seconds which is the normal fade-out part in which B.o.B says, "Yeah, and that's just how we do it/And I'ma let this ride/B.o.B and Bruno Mars", and the radio edit ends with the fourth and last chorus with an earlier fade-out. A 3rd example would be the song, "The Man" by Aloe Blacc, in which the radio edit skips the "I'm the man/Go ahead & tell everybody/What I'm saying ya all" part & the first 10 seconds. Also, the 3rd chorus of the song is shortened. However, many radio edits will also edit out verses, bridges, and interludes, such as the original single edit of "Piano Man" by Billy Joel which substitutes the end of the third verse for the ending of the second verse. Another example for this case is Justin Timberlake's "Mirrors", where the radio edit cuts the entire "You are the love of my life" part.

7th Heaven Remix & Production

7th Heaven [members: Jon Dixon & Andy Wetson] is a British remix and music production team founded in 2006, releasing their first single in the same year. Producing mainly uplifting house and dance-pop music, the duo are best known for remixing mainstream pop and RnB tracks as well as producing some cover versions of original tracks.

History

7th Heaven was started in 2006 by Jon Dixon and Andy Wetson, two of the team of people who worked at Almighty Records. During the late 1990s and early 2000s (decade), Wetson was employed at Almighty in sales and marketing, he had added responsibility for client liaison for the remixes Almighty created, reporting to Almighty’s CEO. Wetson left Almighty in 2005 when Almighty closed its London offices. He was also longtime resident DJ at Royal Vauxhall Tavern, a gay nightclub in London until early 2014, when became the headline DJ at XXL Nightclub. Jon Dixon was the lead producer up until 2002 when he left Almighty. He continued to work for Almighty on a freelance basis from 2004 until 2010. Jon has over the years headed up many of the Almighty remixes and in-house productions. They both played a major role in making Almighty a highly successful commercial remix team.[3]

Air Jamaica

Air Jamaica was the national airline of Jamaica. It has been owned and operated by Caribbean Airlines since May 2011. Caribbean Airlines Limited, headquartered in Piarco, Trinidad and Tobago, had administrative offices for Air Jamaica located at Norman Manley International Airport in Kingston, Jamaica.

The Jamaican government was formerly the owner of Air Jamaica. It sold the airline to Caribbean Airlines in 2011, which resulted in the Jamaican government owning 16% of Caribbean Airlines.

History

According to R.E.G. Davies in his Airlines of Latin America Since 1919, the first incarnation of Air Jamaica was founded on August 27, 1963 after the government of Jamaica decided not to invest in British West Indian Airways (BWIA). Dubbed Jamaica Air Service Ltd., its shareholders were the government of Jamaica (51 percent), British Overseas Airways Corporation (BOAC, which would eventually evolve into British Airways) in association with the Cunard Line (33 percent), and BWIA (16 percent). BWIA's employees in Jamaica were transferred to the new airline. Service to Miami and New York began on May 1, 1966.

7th Heaven (season 1)

The first season of The WB American television drama series 7th Heaven premiered on August 26, 1996 and concluded on May 19, 1997, with a total of 22 episodes.

Hands Up (album)

HANDS UP is the second studio album by South Korean boy band, 2PM. The album was released in digital format on June 20, 2011 and the physical format on June 21, 2011 also the special limited edition on June 23, 2011. The Japanese edition of the album include a 24-page photobook.

Music Videos

A teaser for the music video of "HANDS UP", the lead single of their album, was released in June 14, 2011 on the 2PM's official YouTube account. The full music video was released in June 20, 2011 along with the album.

They released a music video for "HANDS UP (East4A Mix)" on July 14, 2011. They released 2 music videos for "HOT" and "Give It To Me" to promote the movie Blind. "Give It To Me" was written by Junho and released on July 19. "HOT" was written by Jun. K and was released on July 25, both on the 2PM's official YouTube account.

"Hands Up" is a 1995 single by Norwegian Eurodance group Hype, consisting of singer Linda Johansen and two rappers. It is a cover of the 1981-single by the French pop music duo Ottawan. The single reached number 10 on the charts in Norway.

The Swedish band Army of Lovers had a #44 hit in Sweden in 2001 with their cover of "Hands Up".
