"Louder" is the second single of Filipina pop and R&B singer Charice from her second international studio album Infinity released on May 20, 2011, ahead of its planned May 30 release. This song was written by Daniel Jamas, Leah Haywood, Shelly Peiken and produced by Dreamlab.
'Louder' gained positive reviews from contemporary music critics. According to Amanda Hensel of PopCrush, Charice actually comes to terms with the soiled love affair pretty quickly, and vows to keep marching on because it’s the right thing to do. She also addressed ‘Louder’ to be destined for greatness as the feel-good anthem of the summer.
After her 9/11 performances in Florida, Charice shot the music video for "Louder" on September 13, 2011. The music video was directed by Tim Cruz. Gil Duldulao, who choreographed the One Day music video, again lend his talent to the "Louder" music video. The music video premiered on EW.com on 18 October 2011. In November 18, 2011, the music video received the Best Music Video Award in the 2011 International Film Festival Manhattan (IFFM).
Charmaine Clarice Relucio Pempengco (born May 10, 1992 in Cabuyao City, Laguna, Philippines), popularly known by the mononym Charice, is a Filipina singer who rose to popularity through YouTube. Dubbed by Oprah Winfrey as "the most talented girl in the world", she released her first international studio album Charice in 2010. The album entered the Billboard 200 at number eight, making Charice the first Asian solo singer in history to land in the Top 10 of the Billboard 200 albums chart.
Her single "Pyramid", featuring singer Iyaz, is her most successful single to date. It charted within the Top 40 in a number of countries after its debut on The Oprah Winfrey Show where Charice sang live vocals. Crossing over to acting on television, she joined the cast of TV series Glee as Sunshine Corazon. She released "Before It Explodes", written by Bruno Mars, as the lead single from her second international studio album, Infinity.
In March 2012, she signed on to be one of the four judges of the Philippine version of The X Factor, which began airing on ABS-CBN in June.
Charice is the first international studio album (third overall release) by Filipina pop singer Charice. It was released on May 11, 2010, under Reprise Records, making her the third Filipino singer to be signed on an international record label, the first being Lea Salonga (on Atlantic Records in 1993) and Regine Velasquez (on Mercury Records in 1994).
It was launched on The Oprah Winfrey Show during the World's Most Talented Kids episode with Iyaz on the same day. The album, immediately upon release in the United States, debuted at number-eight on the Billboard 200, making Charice the first Asian artist to reach the top 10 on the chart solo.
The lead single, "Pyramid", featuring Iyaz, was released as the second and last single from the album on March 2, 2010. The single reached number 17 on the UK Singles Chart, making Charice the first Filipino singer to have a top 20 single in the UK. The EP, consisting of six songs and six backing tracks, is a combination of cover hits from Dolly Parton, Whitney Houston, Jennifer Holliday, Smokey Mountain, Preluders, and Amy Diamond. It was certified platinum in the Philippines.
