Lost Eden

Lost Eden is an adventure game produced by Cryo Interactive and published by Virgin Interactive in March 1995 for the PC running DOS, Macintosh, 3DO and CD-i. It is set in a world where humans and dinosaurs coexist.

In it, one plays the human character Adam, and is accompanied by a number of characters during the game. Although it did not receive much attention from the gaming media and public, it has been congratulated for a good standard of graphics for its time, largely using pre-rendered 3D graphics, and also for its creativeness and detail. However, it has also been criticized for being too short and simplistic. Perhaps the most distinct quality of the game was the background music created by Stéphane Picq.

Plot

You begin the game as Adam, Prince of Mo. You've grown up in a world of humans, a place where the outside is kept out. You have been confined to Mo for good reason, however. Your mother and sister were killed not one day's march from the Citadel of Mo by the awful forces of the Tyrann, led by Moorkus Rex. Your father is king, a defeated man who has lost all hope for the world since this tragedy.

Lost Eden (band)

Lost Eden was a Japanese melodic death metal band. Forming in 2000, they released their first album Cycle Repeats on Candlelight Records in 2006 and has since gained international attention. The band split in 2009.

History

The band was formed in 2000 with Norio, Adachi, Run, Daisuke, and former drummer Chang.

After much practice, in 2002, two of their songs were put on a Japanese compilation album, SURPLUS SUPPRESSION 3.

In the spring of 2003, a new member, Sensyu, joined as their new drummer, and Chang became the band's new guitarist. Now with three guitarists in the band, they released their debut 4-track EP titled SEWN MOUTH FOREST and experimented with black metal and hardcore punk. Following the release, they went on a national tour.

In 2004, another song was put on a compilation album, METAL OSTENTATION Vol.6. Despite their moderate success, Chang decided to leave the band. The band hired new member, Cab, as guitarist. Due to this new line up change, the band decided to experiment more with a melodic death metal sound.

Anarchy Online

Anarchy Online is a massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) published and developed by Norwegian video game development company Funcom. Released in the summer of 2001, the game was the first in the genre to include a science-fiction setting, dynamic quests, instancing, free trials, and in-game advertising. The game's ongoing storyline revolves around the fictional desert planet "Rubi-Ka", the source of a valuable mineral known as "Notum". Players assume the role of a new colonist to Rubi-Ka. With no specific objective to win Anarchy Online, the player advances the game through the improvement of a character's skills over time. After more than 14 years, Anarchy Online has become one of the oldest surviving games in the genre.

Plot

Fighting for military and political power on Rubi-Ka are the Omni-Tek corporation (owners of the planet's one thousand-year lease), the Separatist Clans, Terrorist groups, extraterrestrial life, and ancient civilizations. The narrative was developed to be played out as a series of virtual "role-play" events over the course of four years, influenced by the actions of those taking part in the game.
