A home directory is a file system directory on a multi-user operating system containing files for a given user of the system. The specifics of the home directory (such as its name and location) is defined by the operating system involved; for example, Windows systems between 2000 and 2003 keep home directories in a folder called Documents and Settings.
A user's home directory is intended to contain that user's files; including text documents, music, pictures or videos, etc. It may also include their configuration files of preferred settings for any software they have used there and might have tailored to their liking: web browser bookmarks, favorite desktop wallpaper and themes, passwords to any external services accessed via a given software, etc. The user can install executable software in this directory, but it will only be available to users with permission to this directory. The home directory can be organized further with the use of sub-directories.
The content of a user's home directory is protected by file system permissions, and by default is accessible to all authenticated users and administrators. Any other user that has been granted administrator privileges has authority to access any protected location on the filesystem including other users home directories.

DEC64 is a proposed format for storing integer and decimal numbers in a computer. Its aim is to solve some drawbacks of the very widely-used format described by IEEE 754. Namely, in languages which implement IEEE 754, some very simple arithmetic operations can have unexpected results due to rounding errors. DEC64 was proposed by Douglas Crockford.
In Javascript (which implements IEEE 754), the expression 0.1 + 0.2
will have a result which is not exactly 0.3
:
DEC64 attempts to solve such cases while maintaining desirable properties of IEEE 754.
DEC64 represents numbers as 64 bit values composed of two parts:
Both parts are two's complements, such that the exponent will be between -127
and 127
, and the coefficient will be between -36028797018963968
and 36028797018963967
.
The value of a number is given by:
There are 255 possible representations of zero. They are all considered to be equal.
It's such a losing game,
But we all continue to play
As if it the sunniest day.
That we walk into,
I'm kind of different
By the same rules
And I'm lost in that love
Find a straight game.
In the morning.
Mother Earth is calling your attention.
She's calling for another intervention.
We've got to work on a solution.
Nothing short of a grand revolution.
So don't worry about your decision,
Just carry on with your mission
Spreading life through the other dimension
Giving fight with your best intention.
I'm like a sheep,
In a darkened room
With no place to call their own
We've been wondering through,
The ceiling
Mother Earth is calling your attention.
She's calling for another intervention.
We've got to work on a solution.
Nothing short of a grand revolution.
So don't worry about your decision,
Just carry on with your mission
Spreading life through the other dimension
Giving fight with your best intention.
