Liza Alert (Russian: Лиза Алерт) is a nonprofit search-and-rescue volunteer organization. Its dedication lays on search for missing people. It is also known as the Liza Alert search-and-rescue team, or simply The Liza Alert Foundation
Liza Alert is more when an alert system with 24\7 response. It is not only carry out the functions of AMBER Alert at the former USSR region, but also directs volunteer forces on active searches of all missing and\or endangered people.
Liza Alert takes its name from 5-year-old Liza Fomkin. In 2010 Liza has died of hypothermia in the Russian wildwood after 9 day long unsuccessful search mission. Liza's death was a great shock and an eye opener for many caring people. The foundation was born in less when 21 days after the devastating event.
The foundation isn't related to the law enforcement agencies of the Russian Federation directly. The main part of the search takes place in the former USSR region and surrounding areas. Priority is given to the search for children and the elderly, and people lost in the natural environment. The foundation do not provide paid search services; searches are free of charge and always executed by volunteers.
