Liverpool F.C.

Liverpool Football Club (/ˈlɪvərpuːl/) is a Premier League football club based in Liverpool, England. The club has won more European and domestic trophies than any other English team with five European Cups, three UEFA Cups, three UEFA Super Cups, 18 League titles, seven FA Cups, a record eight League Cups, and 15 FA Community Shields.

The club was founded in 1892 and joined the Football League the following year. The club has played at Anfield since its formation. Liverpool established itself as a major force in both English and European football during the 1970s and '80s when Bill Shankly and Bob Paisley led the club to 11 League titles and seven European trophies. Under the management of Rafa Benítez and captained by Steven Gerrard Liverpool re-emerged as European champions once again, winning the 2005 UEFA Champions League Final against Milan in spite of being 3–0 down at half time.

Liverpool was the ninth highest-earning football club in the world for 2013–14, with an annual revenue of €306 million, and the world's eighth most valuable football club in 2015, valued at $982 million. The club holds many long-standing rivalries, most notably with Manchester United and the Merseyside derby with Everton.

Liverpool F.C. (Superleague Formula team)

Liverpool F.C. Superleague Formula team was the racing team of Liverpool F.C., a football team that competes in England in the Premier League. The Liverpool F.C. racing team competed in the Superleague Formula. They have been operated by Hitech Junior Team in all seasons, although the team changed name to Atech Grand Prix for 2010.

2008 season

In the 2008 Superleague Formula season Liverpool F.C. finished 4th overall in the table with 325 points. Spanish driver Adrián Vallés was the Liverpool driver for all rounds.

In the 2008 Zolder round, Liverpool F.C. won their first race, and also had the fastest lap in the first race.

Liverpool won their 2nd and last win of the 2008 season at the 2008 Estoril round.

Liverpool earned 2 pole positions at the Vallelunga round and the Jerez round.

2009 season

For the 2009 Superleague Formula season, Adrián Vallés was confirmed as the driver once again.

Liverpool won the opening round of the 2009 season at the Magny-Cours round, and they also won the Super Final.

Liverpool F.C. (Montevideo)

Liverpool Fútbol Club is a Uruguayan football club based in Montevideo. The club joined the Uruguayan top flight in 1919.

History

The club has its roots in the student team from the Catholic Capuchin school in Nuevo París, which began playing in 1908. The club took on the name Liverpool as there were many cultural links between the two areas; the majority of coal ships arriving in Montevideo came from the busy English port. A number of clubs took on Anglicised names, such as league rivals Montevideo Wanderers; in this case, the team paid homage to Liverpool FC.

For the 2005–06 season, the away kit changed to a new all red one, thus looking exactly like the English Liverpool FC. Liverpool plays home matches in Estadio Belvedere (Belvedere Stadium), formerly owned by the Montevideo Wanderers.

Liverpool have failed to win any top flight domestic titles. They reached the final of the Torneo Apertura and Liguilla, both in 1995 only to be beaten by Peñarol and Defensor Sporting respectively. They are famously dubbed as the greatest team in the league never to win the title of champions.

Liverpool (2012 film)

Liverpool is a 2012 Canadian comedy crime film. Written and directed by Manon Briand, the film stars Stéphanie Lapointe as Émilie, a coat check clerk at a Montreal nightclub who decides to return a coat left behind one night by a woman who took a drug overdose in the club, only to find herself embroiled in the city's criminal underground. Her only ally in the quest is Thomas (Charles-Alexandre Dubé), a regular customer of the club and a potential new love interest for Émilie.

Liverpool was Briand's first film since 2002's Chaos and Desire.

Liverpool (album)

Liverpool is Frankie Goes to Hollywood's second and last studio album, released in October 1986 (see 1986 in music). It would be the band's final album of all-new material, and lead singer Holly Johnson would leave the band following the corresponding world tour, followed by a flurry of lawsuits from ZTT. The album's production was handled by Trevor Horn's engineer Stephen Lipson, who urged the band to play their own instruments on this album (Horn having replaced the band's performances and arrangements with his session musicians or his own performances on Welcome to the Pleasuredome.) Liverpool therefore features a heavier rock sound than its predecessor.

The album was a commercial disappointment compared to the band's previous effort, though it charted generally high at #5 in the United Kingdom, #7 on the Austrian and Swiss music charts and #8 in Norway. The cover photo was different depending on what format was purchased (LP, cassette, or compact disc).
