Electrical wiring

Building wiring is the electrical wiring and associated devices such as switches, meters and light fittings used in buildings or other structures. Electrical wiring uses insulated conductors.

Wires and cables are rated by the circuit voltage, temperature and environmental conditions (moisture, sunlight, oil, chemicals) in which they can be used, and their maximum current. Wiring safety codes vary by country, and the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) is attempting to standardise wiring amongst member countries. Colour codes are used to distinguish line, neutral and ground (earth) wires.

Wiring safety codes

Wiring safety codes are intended to protect people and property from electrical shock and fire hazards. Regulations may be established by city, county, provincial/state or national legislation, usually by adopting a model code (with or without local amendments) produced by a technical standards-setting organisation, or by a national standard electrical code.

Live Wire!

Live Wire! is a video game for the PlayStation. It was released on April 10, 1999 by SCI Games and was developed by The Code Monkeys. The game was only released in Europe.

The game is an Amidar-style games which sees four players compete against each other to claim tiles around the territory. To claim a tiles, the player has to draw a line around a square, colouring each side. Tiles can also be stolen with power-ups. The level ends when the timer runs out or all the tiles have been captured. At the end of the level, the number of tiles collected are turned into points, with points also being allocated for stolen tiles and the amount of kills. The player with the most points wins the level.

The game's soundtrack was composed by Allister Whitehead.

Live Wire (Mötley Crüe song)

"Live Wire" is the debut single by the American heavy metal band Mötley Crüe. It was released on their 1981 debut album Too Fast for Love.

Overview

The video was directed by the members of Mötley Crüe. It showcases the band's stage theatrics, such as Nikki Sixx setting himself on fire (due to lack of money to perform on stage pyrotechnics) and Mick Mars drooling blood. The single was released on August 16, 1982. In May 2006, it was ranked #17 on VH1's list of the 40 greatest metal songs of all time.

The song was remixed in 1991 alongside "Piece of Your Action" for the compilation album Decade of Decadence.

Cover versions

In 2000, fellow heavy metal band, Fozzy, covered this song for their debut self-titled album. Swedish hardcore punk band Refused included a cover in their The Demo Compilation. In 2010, Japanese rock band Vamps covered it as the B-side to their single "Devil Side". Country rock band Cadillac Three also do a cover version.

La Bandera is a mutant whose first appearance was in Wolverine vol. 2 #19. La Bandera was a young mutant with the power to influence groups of people to do whatever she wills. Additionally, La Bandera could fire energy blasts from her staff, the potency of which was determined by the number of people she was "inspiring" at the time. La Bandera is later reportedly slain by the killer of superhumans known as Zeitgeist.

  • La Concierge
  • La Lunatica (Marvel 2099)
  • La Nuit

La Nuit (Pierre Truffaut) is a mutant and superhero. He was created by Peter Milligan (writer) and Mike Allred (artist), and first appeared in X-Force #116 (July 2001). La Nuit (The Night) was a member of the second team of X-Force. He was teamed with Battering Ram, U-Go Girl, Plazm and other X-Force members on a mission to North Africa. Like with all their missions, Doop, a flying green creature, films them. On this particular one, they lose Sluk to a tank explosion. La Nuit could project a veil of dark energy, presumably in the same way as Darkstar or the Shroud. It is unknown if his powers had any connection to the Darkforce dimension.
