This is a list of towers that fulfill the engineering definition of a tower "a tall man-made structure, always taller than it is wide, meant for regular access by humans, but not for living in or office work, and are self-supporting or free-standing, which means no guy-wires for support." The definition means the exclusion from this list of continuously habitable buildings and skyscrapers as well as radio and TV masts. Bridge towers or pylons, chimneys, transmission towers, sculptures and most large statues allow human access for maintenance, but not as part of their normal operation, and are therefore not considered to be towers.
Towers are most often built to use their height for various purposes and can stand alone or as part of a larger structure. Some common purposes are for telecommunications, and as a viewing platform.
The Tokyo Skytree, completed in February 2012, reaches a height of 634 m (2,080 ft), making it the tallest tower, and second tallest free standing structure in the world.
Towers... is the debut EP by the band Burning Witch. It was recorded by renowned indie producer Steve Albini. Salute is the second studio album by British girl group Little Mix. It was released in the UK on 11 November 2013. The group began work recording the album in June 2013 and concluded in September 2013. Throughout the recording process, Little Mix worked with several producers, including TMS, Future Cut, Fred Ball, Duvall and Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis. The album was largely co-written by Little Mix, who stated that they were more involved in the development of this album than with their debut. Sonically, the album retains the pop sound of their debut album DNA (2012), while also delving deeper into a more mature R&B sound.
The album debuted at number seven in the Irish Albums Chart and number four on the UK Albums Chart. It was released in the US on 4 February 2014. The album became their second top ten in North America, debuting at number six on the US Billboard 200 and selling an estimated 40,414 copies in its first week.
The album's lead single, "Move", made its radio premiere on 23 September 2013 and was released on 3 November 2013. It charted at number three on the UK Singles Chart and number five on the Irish Singles Chart. Follow-up singles "Little Me" and "Salute" peaked at number 14 and 6 respectively in the UK.

"Homecoming" is the ninth episode of the first season of the NBC science fiction drama series Heroes.
The episode begins with Claire and her friend Zach walking into the high school amphitheater with lunch as Claire's former cheerleader friends wait anxiously for the results of the Homecoming Court vote. Claire downplays the entire ritual, but Zach encourages her to check the posting and see if she had won. To Claire's surprise, she has been voted Homecoming Queen, with her main rival, Jackie, merely a member of the court. Astonished, Claire and the rest of the cheerleaders turn around to see much of the student body proclaiming congratulations and support for Claire. She later discovers that Zach had been campaigning for her, working to win the "unpopular vote" by letting everyone know that Claire is not like the popular Jackie. Jackie, however, spoils the moment in an attempt to deflate Claire's victory by poking fun at Zach. Claire, beginning to see the importance of Zach's friendship to her, promptly punches Jackie in the face.
The angle of list is the degree to which a vessel heels (leans, or tilts) to either port or starboard.
A listing vessel is stable and at equilibrium, but the distribution of weight aboard (often caused by uneven loading or flooding) causes it to heel to one side.
By contrast roll is the dynamic movement from side to side caused by waves.
If a listing ship goes beyond the point where a righting moment will keep it afloat, it will capsize and potentially sink.
