Lisa Stokke

Lisa Stokke (born (1975-03-25) March 25, 1975 in Norway) is a Norwegian singer and actress. She appeared in the original West End-staging of the musical Mamma Mia!, and later appeared in Guys and Dolls and in the UK television series Jonathan Creek.

Acting career

Stokke is from Tromsø, and was in the first class ever to graduate LIPA, Paul McCartney's school in Liverpool, in 1998. Just four months after finishing her final exams, she was cast in the leading role as "Sophie" in the West End production of the brand new ABBA musical Mamma Mia!. She remained as a part of the cast for only a year after having been on stage around 400 times. She moved on to appear in the musical Guys and Dolls and the productions of the shows Chess and Hard Times.

Following the success of Mamma Mia! and other stage shows Stokke has made appeared in various guest roles on British and Norwegian television, musical shows and films, in addition to leading roles on stage in Norway. She appeared in one episode of the British detective series Jonathan Creek, playing Jodee Tressky in the episode "Satan's Chimney". She also starred in the Norwegian film Long Flat Balls II.

Bass Armstrong (バース・アームストロング, Bāsu Āmusutorongu) is a retired professional wrestler and Tina's overprotective father. He is also the widower of Alicia Armstrong, who died of a disease when Tina was only six years old. He disapproves of Tina's aspirations of wanting to be a model (DOA2), a Hollywood actress (DOA3) and a rock star (DOA4). Consequently, he enters the DOA tournaments to put an end to her fame-seeking, only to fail at each attempt. In the fourth tournament, it is revealed that he intends to win so he would have enough money to enter the "Hyper Battle Grand Prix", which he then loses after seeing Tina's picture on a billboard and crashes into it after losing control of his bike. Like Tina in the English versions of the game, he, too, speaks with a Southern accent.

Stokke

Stokke is a municipality in Vestfold county, Norway. The administrative centre of the municipality is the village of Stokke.

Background

The municipality of Stokke was established on 1 January 1838 (see formannskapsdistrikt). Two islands were later transferred from the municipality of Stokke to the neighboring municipality of Nøtterøy: Håøya, (in 1901) and Veierland (in 1964).

General information

Name

The municipality (originally the parish) is named after the old Stokke farm (Old Norse: Stokkar), since the first church was built here. The name is the plural form of stokkr which means "log". (This is probably referring to some hills/ridges near the churchsite.)

Coat-of-arms

The coat-of-arms is from modern times. They were granted on 13 January 1984. The arms are canting since stokker means "sticks" or "logs". The arms show three gold-colored tree trunks on a red background.
