    Lion (Australasian company)

Lion is a beverage and food company that operates in Australia and New Zealand and produces and markets a range of beer, wine, cider, RTDs, spirits, plain and flavoured milks, yogurts, cheese, juice and soy products. Lion was formed in October 2009 under the name ‘Lion Nathan National Foods’, when Kirin Holdings Company Limited purchased brewer Lion Nathan and merged the business with National Foods which it owned since 2007. In 2011, it changed its name to Lion. The company employs over 7000 people.

The company was formed in 1988 with the merger of LD Nathan & Co and Lion Breweries, and was listed on both the Australian and New Zealand Stock Exchanges under the symbol LNN. On 17 September 2009, Lion Nathan shareholders overwhelmingly voted to accept a 100% takeover offer by Kirin. The takeover was implemented on 21 October 2009, and the company was delisted.

    History

The original forerunner of the company was Brown Campbell & Co, the company of Logan Campbell and William Brown who established the Hobson Bridge Brewery in Auckland in 1840. By 1897 it was the largest brewery in the North Island if not the country. In May 1897 Brown Campbell & Co amalgamated with Louis Ehrenfried's Albert Brewery, which he had bought in 1878, to form Campbell and Ehrenfried. The new company was managed by Arthur Myers, Ehrenfried's nephew. In 1914 Campbell and Ehrenfried merged with the Great Northern Brewery, which owned the Lion brand. In 1923 ten breweries amalgamated to form New Zealand Breweries. Campbell and Ehrenfried merged its breweries into New Zealand Breweries but remained a separate company. Douglas Myers, grandson of Arthur Myers, became CEO of Campbell and Ehrenfried in 1965.

Inspired by the classic Macintosh' Macintosh Programmer's Workshop editor, it is primarily intended for working with C and C++ development. • Eddie (Louie)

"Eddie" is the ninth episode of the second season of Louie. It first aired on the FX channel in the United States on August 11, 2011.

    Plot

After finishing a stand-up set, Louie runs into his old friend and colleague Eddie Mack (Doug Stanhope), whom he has not seen for years. Louie is happy to see his friend, but when Eddie becomes unnecessarily aggressive towards a fellow comedian, it becomes clear that something is wrong. It turns out Eddie is struggling with his career, lives in his car and drinks heavily. The two go out together, get drunk, and Eddie does an impromptu set at an open mic event. As the evening comes to an end, Eddie tells Louie that he's planning to end it. Louie thinks he is talking about his stand-up career, but Eddie is actually planning to commit suicide, and sought out Louie because he wanted someone to say goodbye to. Louie initially states that he has struggled with determining his purpose in life and had to discover it for himself and everyone must discover their own purpose. Louie at first attempts to dissuade him stating for instance," You know what, it's not your life. It's life. Life is bigger than you. If you can imagine that. Life isn't something that you possess; it's something that you take part in, and you witness." While Louie is expressing his concerns, they are both promptly interrupted by a random couple arguing within earshot and thus distracting them in the process. The moment ends in an awkward silence. It then becomes clear to Eddie that he is going to have to figure out for himself if he has a significant reason to live. The two part ways with the issue unresolved, and it is not revealed what eventually happens to Eddie.

    Lion Eddie

    by: Me & My

    Lion Eddie, let's go steady
When I need you I can feed you
    Lion Eddie, let's go steady
When I need you I can feed you
With my love and music sound
At first he knocked me out
    And then he went away
And no one hit and ran
    Liek Eddie did today
Uh uh uh uh I'm so alone
I want him home, bring him home
    Lion Eddie, let's go steady
I just need you here around
When I need you I can feed you
With my love and music sound
    Lion Eddie, let's go steady
I just need you here around
When I need you I can feed you
With my love and music sound
    I'm so afraid
I'll never see him here again
    I lost my lover
And my one and only friend
Uh uh uh uh I'm so alone
I want him home, bring him home
Uh uh uh uh I'm so alone
