Limi Feu (born Limi Yamamoto) is a Japanese fashion designer. She started her label in 2000 and showed her clothes at Tokyo Fashion Week between 2000 and 2007.[1] She made her Paris Fashion Week debut in October 2007 and was greeted with praise from fashion critics.[2][3]

Feu is the daughter of designer Yohji Yamamoto.[2][1] (She took a new name after stumbling upon the word "feu" in a French dictionary.[1])

Fashion writers have pointed to similarities between the aesthetics of Feu and her father: they both employ dark colors,[2] large volumes,[2][3] layering,[3] and asymmetry[3] in their designs. They have also noted, however, that her designs are streetwise and have a rock attitude, whereas her father's designs were typically romantic.[2][3][1]To celebrate Limi Feu's 10th Anniversary, Limi Yamamoto held a special showing in Tokyo that featured seven previously unseen looks: these designs paid homage to the old fashion guard, the father of modern day couture, Christian Dior.[4]

Limi

Limi is a valley in Humla District in the Karnali Zone of north-western Nepal. As of the 1991 Nepal census, it had a population of 988 persons living in 169 individual households.

Geography

Limi is a remote Trans-Himalayan Valley in north-west Nepal bordering Tibet. Its remoteness has made it unknown to tourists until very recently. It consists of three villages: Til (4100 m elevation) in the west; Jhang (3930 m) in the east; and the biggest village, Halji (3700 m), in the middle. It has strong ties to Tibet, and has maintained many aspects of traditional Tibetan culture. The valley has monasteries over 800 years old, which are still in use today.

History

There is a long tradition of trade and cultural exchange between this part of Nepal and Tibet. Due to its remoteness to other parts of Nepal and district headquarter Simikot, people living in Limi still rely on trade with Tibet.

Limi Villages

There are three villages in Limi - Til, Halji and Jhang. Til is closest village of Limi to the Tibet-China border. Halji located at heart of limi. And Jhang meets other side border to Burang, Tibet.
