Kings (electoral district)

Kings was a federal electoral district in Nova Scotia, Canada, that was represented in the Canadian House of Commons from 1867 to 1925.

It was created in the British North America Act of 1867. The riding was abolished in 1924 when it was merged into Hants—Kings riding. It consisted of Kings County.

Kings (U.S. TV series)

Kings is an American television drama series which aired on NBC. The series' narrative is loosely based on the Biblical story of King David, but set in a kingdom that culturally and technologically resembles the present-day United States.

Advance showings received mostly positive critical reviews. The Sunday March 15, 2009 premiere placed fourth in network television ratings for that evening. After four episodes aired, NBC moved it to a Saturday slot, but only showed one more episode before pulling the series until summer. The remaining seven episodes were aired on Saturdays in June and July; however, Kings was canceled after failing to find a sufficient audience.

Plot

Kings is set in the fictional Kingdom of Gilboa, a modern absolute monarchy. Gilboa is ruled by King Silas Benjamin, who originally formed the united kingdom two decades before from the three warring countries of Gilboa, Carmel, and Selah. He believes that he has been divinely anointed king, and he often cites the day when a swarm of Monarch butterflies once landed on his head in the form of "a living crown" which called upon him to form the Monarchy and Kingdom.

Circle of Death (also Kings, king's cup, donut, jug, oval of fire, or ring of fire) is a drinking game that uses playing cards. The player must drink and dispense drinks based on cards drawn. Each card has a rule that is predetermined before the game starts. Many houses have their own variation of rules.

Setup and common rules

In this game, players perform actions associated with each card. Sometimes, rules on the cards "reveal interesting things about the participants."

Usually, cards are shuffled and dealt into a circle around either an empty cup or a full can of beer (or a shot/cup of spirits or wine). Each player takes turn drawing cards, and the players must participate in the instructions corresponding to the drawn card.

This game is highly open ended and all of the cards can signify any mini-game, the rules and the card assignments are normally confirmed at the start of the game. Depending on house rules, the game either ends when the last rule card has been pulled, or when the king's cup has been consumed; or when the cards are placed on top of the king's cup the game is over when the cards fall off, the one that knocked them off must consume the king's cup. Alternatively, the game may be played using a beer can with cards placed between the top of the can and the opening tab. The game ends when the beer can opens from the leverage of the cards.

Bela Talbot

Bela Talbot is a fictional character on The CW Television Network's drama/horror television series Supernatural, portrayed by Lauren Cohan. Appearing only in the third season, she uses knowledge of the supernatural world to her advantage rather than to help those in need. Self-centered and a thorn in the side of the series' protagonists, Bela makes her living by stealing occult objects and selling them to wealthy clients. Critical reaction to the character was mixed, with negative responses from fans ultimately leading to her departure at the end of the season.

Plot

In her first appearance, "Bad Day at Black Rock", Bela Talbot hires two crooks to steal a cursed rabbit's foot from a storage container owned by the deceased John Winchester, a hunter of supernatural creatures. Anyone who touches the foot is granted good luck, but will die within a week if the foot is lost. She intends to sell it and shows no concern for the fate of the thieves. John's sons, series protagonists Sam and Dean, retrieve the foot but are cursed by it. Bela interferes when they attempt to destroy it, and shoots Sam in the shoulder. Dean, however, tricks her into touching it. She gives the foot up for destruction, but manages to steal $46,000 in winning lottery tickets from Dean that he had purchased using the foot's granted luck.

Abby Sciuto

Abigail "Abby" Sciuto /ˈʃuːtoʊ/ is a fictional character from the NCIS television series on CBS Television, and is portrayed by Pauley Perrette. In a Season 10 episode entitled "Hit and Run", a young Abby was played by Brighton Sharbino in flashbacks. Like Jethro Gibbs, Anthony DiNozzo, and Dr. Donald Mallard, Abby was first introduced in the episodes "Ice Queen" and "Meltdown" of the television show JAG (which together served as the backdoor pilot for NCIS), and has appeared in every episode of NCIS, in addition to being featured on the show's spin-offs, NCIS: Los Angeles (2 episodes) NCIS: New Orleans (2 episodes). Abby Sciuto is a forensic scientist at the Naval Criminal Investigative Service headquarters at the Washington Naval Yard, with expertise in ballistics, digital forensics, and DNA analysis. In the first episode of the seventh season, "Truth or Consequences", DiNozzo, while under the influence of a truth serum, describes her as "a paradox wrapped in an oxymoron smothered in contradictions in terms. Sleeps in a coffin. Really, the happiest goth you'll ever meet." Her gothic style of dress and her interest in death and the supernatural enigmatically contrast with her generally hyperactive demeanor and enthusiasm about her work.

Abby (Doctor Who)

Abby, originally named Amy, is a fictional character played by Ciara Janson in a series of audio plays produced by Big Finish Productions based on the long-running British science fiction television series Doctor Who. A human "tracer", a device designed to track down the segments of the Key to Time, she is a companion of the Fifth Doctor.

After her travels with the Doctor, Abby, alongside her sister Zara, would return in their own audio series, Graceless.

Character history

The character first appears in The Judgement of Isskar, in which the Fifth Doctor was brought to a rainy planet where he found a compass, which led him to Amy, then just a few minutes old and not yet having a name. Telling him that the compass was a segment of the Key to Time, she asked if he could help her collect two more segments. She turned the segment into its original form and put it into a satchel leading to another universe.
