Life Story is the critically acclaimed debut album by Black Rob, an American hip hop musician. it was released on September 28, 1999, by Bad Boy Records. The album boasts a wide range of guests, mostly fellow artists from Bad Boy Records. The album has been certified Platinum by the RIAA for selling 1,000,000 copies in the United States Of America on August 17,2000.

Life Story (1987 film)

Life Story (known as The Race for the Double Helix or Double Helix in the United States) is a 1987 TV film dramatisation of the discovery of the structure of DNA in 1953. The film was directed by Mick Jackson for the BBC's Horizon science series and won several prizes including the 1988 BAFTA TV Award as the Best Single Drama.

Summary

The film tells the story of the rivalries of the two teams of scientists attempting to discover the structure of DNA. Francis Crick and James D. Watson at Cambridge University and Maurice Wilkins and Rosalind Franklin at King's College London.

The film manages to convey the loneliness and competitiveness of scientific research but also educates the viewer as to how the structure of DNA was discovered. In particular, it explores the tension between the patient, dedicated laboratory work of Franklin and the sometimes uninformed intuitive leaps of Watson and Crick, all played against a background of institutional turf wars, personality conflicts and sexism. In the film Watson jokes, plugging the path of intuition: "Blessed are they who believed before there was any evidence." The film also shows why Watson and Crick made their discovery, overtaking their competitors in part by reasoning from genetic function to predict chemical structure, thus helping to establish the then still-nascent field of molecular biology.

Life Story (TV series)

Life Story is a British natural history television series with Mike Gunton, Rupert Barrington and Tom Hugh-Jones from the BBC Natural History Unit on the production team. The six-part series reveals the challenges faced by individual animals at different stages of their lives and was first broadcast on BBC One in 2014. The series is introduced and narrated by David Attenborough.

Production

The series was announced by the BBC on 8 July 2011 with the working title Survival, later changed to Life Story. It is a BBC Television, Discovery Channel and France Télévisions co-production and is the first Natural History Unit series to film using ultra high-definition 4K cameras. The series was marketed by BBC Worldwide at the BBC Worldwide Showcase event in 2014.

The series has been produced with extensive use of surround sound effects, and with out-of-frame sounds changing with each change of shot; something that is often minimised to avoid distraction but which works well on wildlife material. It is currently broadcast with Dolby 5.1 surround on Freesat.
