Librarian

A librarian is a person who works professionally in a library, providing access to information and sometimes social or technical programming. They are usually required to hold a degree from a library school such as a Master's degree in Library Science or Library and Information Studies.

Duties and functions

Traditionally, a librarian is associated with collections of books, as demonstrated by the etymology of the word "librarian" (from the Latin liber, "book"). The role of a librarian is continually evolving to meet social and technological needs. A modern librarian may deal with provision and maintenance of information in many formats, including: books; electronic resources; magazines; newspapers; audio and video recordings; maps; manuscripts; photographs and other graphic material; bibliographic databases; and web-based and digital resources. A librarian may also provide other information services, including: information literacy instruction; computer provision and training; coordination with community groups to host public programs; assistive technology for people with disabilities; and assistance locating community resources. Appreciation for librarians is often included by authors and scholars in the Acknowledgment sections of books. .

Castlevania: Symphony of the Night

Castlevania: Symphony of the Night (Japanese: 悪魔城ドラキュラX 月下の夜想曲, Hepburn: Akumajō Dracula X: Gekka no Yasōkyoku, Devil's Castle Dracula X: Nocturne in the Moonlight) is a platform-adventure action role-playing game developed and published by Konami in 1997. It is the sequel to Castlevania: Rondo of Blood and features Dracula's dhampir son Alucard as the protagonist. Its initial commercial success was limited – particularly in the United States where it was not strongly publicized – but it was critically praised, gained sales through word-of-mouth and eventually became a hit. It has since been re-released on several gaming consoles and is now usually considered a sleeper hit and a cult classic of video gaming.

Gameplay

Like many installments of the Castlevania series, Castlevania: Symphony of the Night uses a 2D side-scrolling style of gameplay. The objective of the game is to guide the main player character Alucard through the undead-filled castle as he sets out to defeat the vampire Dracula. The game uses a non-linear style of gameplay; however, at the beginning, Alucard can access only certain areas of the castle. By obtaining the three forms (wolf, bat, and mist) that he can shapeshift into, he gradually explores the castle. A map carried by Alucard is automatically updated to show the player's progress through the castle.

Unseen University

The Unseen University (UU) is a school of wizardry in Terry Pratchett's Discworld series of fantasy novels. Located in the fictional city of Ankh-Morpork, the UU is staffed by a faculty composed of mostly indolent and inept old wizards. The university's name is a pun on the Invisible College. The exploits of the head wizards of the Unseen University are one of the main plot threads in the long-running fantasy series, and have played a central role in 13 novels to date, as well as the three supplementary Science of Discworld novels and the short story, A Collegiate Casting-Out of Devilish Devices.

Motto and Coat of Arms

The official motto of Unseen University is "Nunc Id Vides, Nunc Ne Vides", loosely translated as "Now you see it, now you don't". The unofficial motto is "η β π", or "Eta Beta Pi" ("Eat a Bit of Pie" or "Eat a Better Pie" (according to the Hogfather novel)).

The coat of arms is: Azure, in chief an open book proper bearing the motto "nunc id vides, nunc ne vides" and in base a wizard's hat gules with stars semy Or. For crest is an owl displayed proper.
