Let Me Know (Tamar Braxton song)

"Let Me Know" is a single by American recording artist Tamar Braxton featuring American rapper Future. The song was released on October 7, 2014. Three months after the release, the song reached number 5 on the Urban AC Radio chart and number 10 on R&B/Hip Hop Airplay chart. The song samples "(At Your Best) You Are Love" by the late singer Aaliyah, which is an Isley Brothers cover.

Tamar released a video for the single on her VEVO account.

In the opening of the video Tamar is laying in the bed with a blond wig on, and she then stand up holding spy classes while looking out the window. In the second scene she is wearing a glitter painted on outfit while laying in a black room with a light shining on her. In third scene she is in a room grinding on a wall. The final scene she is at big dinner table eating chocolate strawberries.

Future does not appear in the video.

Critical reception

Billboard.com gave the song 4 out of 5 stars in its review of "The Best and Worst Singles of the Week" for the second week of October.

Let Me Know

"Let Me Know" is a song by Irish recording artist Róisín Murphy from her second solo studio album, Overpowered. Written and produced by Murphy and Andy Cato of Groove Armada, the song was released as the album's second single on 8 October 2007. "Let Me Know" reached number twenty-eight in the United Kingdom, becoming Murphy's highest-peaking solo hit to date. The track is based on Tracy Weber's 1981 song "Sure Shot" and D. Train's 1982 song "Keep On".

The art director of the single was British graphic designer Scott King and the photographer was Jonathan de Villiers. Murphy is depicted wearing a design by English fashion designer Gareth Pugh on the cover.

Critical reception

"Let Me Know" received positive reviews from music critics. While reviewing Overpowered, Mark Edwards of The Sunday Times commented that the song's hook is "strong enough to compensate for the album's duller moments." Nick Levine of Digital Spy gave the song four out of five stars, stating that it "melds propulsive synths, a nineties house piano riff and Murphy's crystalline vocals to create a groove that's harder to resist that a night of passion with Brad or Angelina (or both of them—whatever floats your boat, eh?)." Gemma Hampson wrote for musicOMH that it "retains a bit of that Moloko odd-ness that set the band aside from all the other disco, funk, dance groups around at the same time. Murphy's soft and feminine voice sits well above the '80s bouncy bass and funky electro percussion. It's got a good, retro beat, ruined slightly by the dated fake piano heard all too much in dance in the past 25 years."

Let Me Know (Towa Tei song)

Let Me Know is a song by Japanese electronic musician Towa Tei, featuring singer Chara on vocals. It was released as the fourth single from his album Last Century Modern on June 23, 1999 (1999-06-23), a month before the album's release. It debuted at #34 on the Japanese Oricon album charts, and charted for four weeks. It did substantially better on the J-Wave airplay charts, charting in the top 30 for eight weeks.

Tei had produced Chara's songs Shimashima no Bambi (しましまのバンビ, Striped Bambi) (from her 1997 album Junior Sweet) and Atashi wa Koko yo (あたしはここよ, I'm Here) (from her 1999 album Strange Fruits, released three months before this single).

Let Me Know was used as the ending theme song for the variety show Hey! Hey! Hey! Music Champ.

The song also appears on the 1999 remix album Lost Control Mix with the remix Let Me Know (Mighty Bop Remix) (remixed by Bob Sinclar), as well as the original version appearing on Tei's 2001 best-of album, Towa Tei Best.

Baltimore Orioles

The Baltimore Orioles are an American professional baseball team based in Baltimore, Maryland. The Orioles compete in Major League Baseball (MLB) as a member of the American League (AL) East division. One of the AL's eight charter franchises when the league was established in 1901 with President Ban Johnson; this particular franchise spent its first year as a major league club in Milwaukee, Wisconsin as the Milwaukee Brewers before moving to St. Louis, Missouri to become the St. Louis Browns. After 52 often-beleaguered years in St. Louis, the franchise was purchased in November 1953 by Baltimore business interests led by Clarence Miles. The franchise officially moved to Baltimore for the 1954 season and adopted the historic "Orioles" name in honor of the official state bird of Maryland. The Orioles name had also been used by several previous major and minor league baseball clubs in Baltimore, including the franchise that would eventually become the New York Yankees. Nicknames for the team include the "O's" and the "Birds".

In Old Norse, ǫ́ss (or áss, ás, plural æsir; feminine ásynja, plural ásynjur) is the term denoting a member of the principal pantheon in the indigenous Germanic religion known as Norse religion. This pantheon includes Odin, Frigg, Thor, Baldr and Týr. The second pantheon comprises the Vanir. In Norse mythology, the two pantheons wage the Æsir-Vanir War, which results in a unified pantheon.

The cognate term in Old English is ōs (plural ēse) denoting a deity in Anglo-Saxon paganism. The Old High German is ans, plural ensî. The Gothic language had ans- (based only on Jordanes who glossed anses with uncertain meaning, possibly 'demi-god' and presumably a Latinized form of actual plural *anseis). The reconstructed Proto-Germanic form is *ansuz (plural *ansiwiz). The a-rune ᚫ was named after the æsir.

Unlike the Old English word god (and Old Norse goð), the term ōs (áss) was never adopted into Christian use.

Etymology

Æsir is the plural of áss, óss "god" (gen. āsir) which is attested in other Germanic languages, e.g., Old English ōs (gen. pl. ēsa) and Gothic (as reported by Jordanes) anses "half-gods". These all stem from Proto-Germanic *ansis ~ ansuz, which itself comes from Proto-Indo-European *h₂énsus (gen. h₂n̥sóus) "life force" (cf. Avestan aŋhū "lord; lifetime", ahura "godhood", Sanskrit ásu "life force",ásura "god" (< *h₂n̥suró)). It is widely accepted that this word is further related to *h₂ens- "to engender" (cf. Hittite hass- "to procreate, give birth", Tocharian B ās- "to produce").
