Achievement Hunter is a video gaming website and a division of Rooster Teeth Productions. Founded by Geoff Ramsey and Jack Pattillo on July 6, 2008, the website is largely based on the achievement mechanic found in seventh and eighth generation video game consoles. Since its founding, Achievement Hunter has grown to become a core component of Rooster Teeth, hosting a wide variety of videos related to video games. The most frequent videos are hosted by the six most prolific employees: Geoff Ramsey, Jack Pattillo, Gavin Free, Michael Jones, Ryan Haywood, and Jeremy Dooley.
Achievement Hunter has a large presence on YouTube – where it runs four different channels: Achievement Hunter, LetsPlay, GameFails and Achievement Hunter Community – garnering a combined total of 5.4 million subscribers and 1.4 billion video views.
In 2008, Geoff Ramsey's interest in gaming achievements resulted in the realization that no community-based website related to achievements existed. As a result, Ramsey approached Burnie Burns, then CEO of Rooster Teeth, about creating a website based on achievements; Burns agreed, and Ramsey created Achievement Hunter, which shares a similar design to the main Rooster Teeth website. Alongside employee Jack Pattillo, Ramsey regularly released achievement guides and Easter egg videos, often receiving assistance from select volunteers from the Rooster Teeth community. David Dreger also assisted in the founding of the site.
A Let's Play (commonly referred to as an LP) is a video, or less commonly a series of screenshots, documenting a playthrough of a video game, almost always including commentary by the gamer. A Let's Play differs from a walkthrough or strategy guide by focusing on an individual's subjective experience with the game, often with humorous, irreverent, or critical commentary from the gamer, rather than being an objective source of information on how to progress through the game.
From the onset of computer video entertainment, video game players with access to screenshot capture software, video capture devices, and screen recording software have recorded themselves playing through games, often as part of walkthroughs, speedruns or other entertainment form. For example, the Japanese television program GameCenter CX had the host challenged to complete retro games within a single day, and others like Skip Rodgers had provided VHS tapes describing to players how to complete difficult games. One such form these took was the addition of running commentary, typically humorous in nature, along with the screenshots or videos; video-based playthroughs would typically be presented without significant editing to maintain the raw response the players had to the game. The presenter would also often poll the readers or viewers to certain in-game decisions as to provide an element of interactivity for longer games. Though others had used the same approach at the time, the forums at the website Something Awful are credited with coming up with the term "Let's Play" in 2007 to describe such playthroughs. The exact origins of the term are unclear, but believed to be in reference to a screenshot playthrough of The Oregon Trail via the Something Awful forums sometime in 2005; the playthrough no longer can be found on the site though has been referenced by other forum threads.
Desperate Housewives is an American television comedy-drama-mystery which premiered on ABC on October 3, 2004, in the United States. The first season had a single special episode, while the second and third season each had two. Seasons one through eight have been released on DVD in Regions 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5.
Desperate Housewives follows the lives of four women–Susan (Teri Hatcher), Lynette (Felicity Huffman), Bree (Marcia Cross) and Gabrielle (Eva Longoria)–through the eyes of Mary Alice (Brenda Strong), their deceased friend and neighbor.
The vast majority of the episodes are titled after lyrics by composer/lyricist Stephen Sondheim. A total of 180 episodes of Desperate Housewives were aired over eight seasons.
Season one premiered on October 3, 2004 and featured a total of 23 episodes and one clip show. The show opens with the mysterious suicide of housewife Mary Alice Young on a beautiful day in the suburbs, on a street called Wisteria Lane. Mary Alice, who narrates the show from the afterlife, had four friends: Bree Van de Kamp, the seemingly perfect mother of two teenagers struggling to save her marriage; Lynette Scavo, the mother of four whose husband is always away on business; Susan Mayer, the divorced mother in search of love who finds love in the form of her new neighbour Mike Delfino, who has a secret of his own; and Gabrielle Solis, the materialistic former runway model who cheats on her husband. While trying to be good wives and mothers, the four friends also try to find out why their friend committed suicide. The discovery of a blackmail note among Mary Alice's belongings, a therapy session tape in which she admits her real name was Angela, and her widowed husband's strange behavior all pique their interest in the mysterious suicide of their friend and neighbor.
Computerized Voice:
I.D do you want to play
want to play
want to play
I saw you standing
on the corner
only yesterday
And I just couldn't look away
What was it that you had that
kept me in this fantasy
That kept me staring all day
But now you noticed me and
now I see I'm not alone
So what exactly do I say
I would like to be the man for you
so here's the deal
could you come over and play
Ooh you're hot
Give me all the love you've got
You know you really, really turn me on
And ooh I've got,
Lots of tricks you'll like a lot, oh
I wanna shake you
I wanna take you away
Hey hey,
come on let's play
We’re gonna boom boom the night away
Are you set or excited yet
cause were gonna get it on
Hey hey come on let's play
We’re gonna boom boom the night away
Don't you fret
gonna make you sweat
Let me freak you till the dawn
So now that you and me are gonna go
and finally be
Exactly as I had it planned
No need for no one else to come
and sweep you of your feet
You know I am the only man
I never dreamed that you and me
would go and play these games
No one would ever understand
So let me be the one to show you
how it feels so please
Don't be afraid to take my hand
Ooh you're hot
Give me all the love you've got
You know you really, really turn me on
And ooh I've got
Lots of tricks you'll like a lot
I wanna shake you
I wanna take you away
Hey hey, come on lets play
We’re gonna boom boom the night away
