Gambit (scheme implementation)

Gambit, also called Gambit-C, is a free software Scheme implementation, consisting of a Scheme interpreter, and a compiler which compiles Scheme to C. Its documentation claims conformance to the R⁴RS, R⁵RS, and IEEE standards, as well as several SRFIs. Gambit was first released 1988, and Gambit-C (that is, Gambit with the C backend) was first released 1994.

Termite Scheme

Termite Scheme is a variant of Scheme implemented on top of Gambit-C. Termite is intended for distributed computing, it offers a simple and powerful message-passing model of concurrency, inspired by that of Erlang.

C++ and Objective-C integration

While the compiler itself produces solely C code, it has full integration support for C++ and Objective-C compilers such as GCC. Thus, software written in Gambit-C can contain C++ or Objective-C code, and can fully integrate with corresponding libraries.

Gambit is a strategy card game created by GB Company. It consists of character cards that are assigned "hit points" and a variety of equipment, attack and defense cards. The object of the game is to be the lone survivor by eliminating the hit points of your fellow opponents.

The game originally debuted at the ORIGINS convention held in Columbus, Ohio in 2005. It was noted for allowing up to ten players per game.

7L & Esoteric (7LES) are an underground hip-hop duo from Boston, Massachusetts, known for battle rhymes and boom bap production. 7L is the duo's DJ/producer and Esoteric is the MC. 7L & Esoteric are both prominent members of underground hip-hop collectives Army of the Pharaohs and Demigodz, as well as being 2/3 of CZARFACE along with Wu-Tang Clan member Inspectah Deck.

History

Early Career (1993-1996)

The duo formed in 1993 when Esoteric DJed a hip hop show at a college radio station north of Boston. 7L, a DJ and producer who listened to the show, contacted Esoteric in the interest of collaborating. The two found they shared a common love of the golden age of hip-hop and decided to form a group.

After performing for some time in the Boston/Cambridge underground, the duo released their first single in 1996 as God Complex with MC Karma. The B-side, "Secret Wars", gained a lot of attention as Esoteric paid tribute to the heroes of Marvel Comics in rhyme form. This led to the release of the Rebel Alliance LP, featuring acts such as Virtuoso, Mr. Lif, and Force Five. Also at this time, the two dropped the God Complex moniker and became known as simply 7L & Esoteric.

Amusement rides, sometimes called carnival rides, are mechanical devices or structures that move people to create enjoyment.

Flat rides are usually considered to be those that move their passengers in a plane generally parallel to the ground, such as rides that spin around a vertical axis, like carousels and twists, and ground level rides such as bumper cars and The Whip.

Gravity rides are those where gravity is responsible for all or some of the movement, and where any vertical movement is not about a fixed point, such as roller coasters and water slides.

Vertical rides usually move their passengers in a vertical plane and around a fixed point, such as Ferris wheels, Enterprise, and Skydiver.

Rides (UK TV series)

Rides is a British television series produced by the BBC between 1992 and 1993. It lasted two series of six episodes each and was made by Warner Sisters, a UK-based television production company based in Ealing.

The series starred Jill Baker as Patrice Jenner, a former Royal Corps of Transport warrant officer who starts up an all-women taxi firm. The first series dealt with the establishment of the business and the recruitment of a team of drivers - Scarlett (Caroline Blakiston), Janet (Louise Jameson), Sue-Lyn (Katharine Schlesinger), Aileen (Lynda Steadman), Aggie (Nimmy March) and George (Nicola Cowper). The second series explored more personal storylines involving the women, such as Patrice's relationship with her teenage daughter Beki (Lucy Speed). The first series also starred Jesse Birdsall as Julian, Patrice's love interest, however in series two Julian was played by a different actor, James Purefoy.

George was a motorbike-riding, leather-clad lesbian who was dating Sacha, played by Charlotte Avery. They lived in a squat and befriended Patrice's daughter Beki - causing much concern to Patrice. George, Frankie and Sacha were the motorcyclists who made up the 'dispatch' part of the firm. Scarlett (Caroline Blakiston) was a transsexual (male to female).

Rides (U.S. TV series)

Rides is an automotive reality TV show produced for the TLC Network. The show's host is automobile enthusiast and amateur racer Jason Priestly. Rides debuted in the Summer of 2004 and became TLC's highest-rated series of the year.

Cars

The majority of the cars seen in the show were one-off (non-production) cars or concept cars such as the Ford Shelby GR-1 and the Ford Shelby Cobra Concept. The show also showed the building aspects and techniques used for creating cars.
