Harmful

Harmful is a rock band from Frankfurt, Germany, founded in 1992 and frequently compared to early Helmet and more occasionally to Blackmail. The band has released eight albums to date, the first two and last three on independent labels (BluNoise, Steamhammer and Nois-o-lution), the third (which was produced by Dave Sardy, who also produced the latest album Cause) and fourth via BMG.

2007 saw the release of Harmful's seventh album, aptly titled 7, produced by Billy Gould, former member of Faith No More. Gould has subsequently joined the band as a fourth member and also took part in the tour supporting the album in early 2007.

In the past, Harmful has toured with bands like Slayer, Machine Head, Clutch, Paradise Lost, Therapy?, LaFaro and Helmet.

LER or Ler may refer to:

Ler (mythology)

Ler (meaning "Sea" in Old Irish; Lir is the genitive form) is a sea god in Irish mythology. His name suggests that he is a personification of the sea, rather than a distinct deity. He is named Allód in early genealogies, and corresponds to the Llŷr of Welsh mythology. Ler is chiefly an ancestor figure, and is the father of the god Manannán mac Lir, who appears frequently in medieval Irish literature. Ler appears as the titular king in the tale The Children of Lir.

Gaelic references

Ler, like his Welsh counterpart, is a god of the sea, though in the case of the Gaelic myths his son Manannán mac Lir seems to take over his position and so features more prominently. It is probable that more myths referring to Ler which are now lost to us existed and that his popularity was greater, especially considering the number of figures called 'son of Ler'.

In the 9th century AD Irish glossary entitled Sanas Cormaic, famed bishop and scholar Cormac mac Cuilennáin makes mention of Manannan and his father Ler, who Cormac identifies with the sea:

Ler is a village in the municipality of Melhus in Sør-Trøndelag county, Norway. It is located along the Gaula River between the villages of Kvål and Lundamo. The 0.47-square-kilometre (120-acre) village has a population (2013) of 576. The population density of Ler is 1,226 inhabitants per square kilometre (3,180/sq mi).

Ler Station is located in the village along the Dovrebanen railway line, and it is served by commuter trains on Trønderbanen. The European route E6 highway also runs through the village. The most famous citizen of the village is former prime minister Per Borten. Ler was the administrative center of the former municipality of Flå. It is also the location of Flå Church.
