Leland Grove, Illinois

Leland Grove is a city in Sangamon County, Illinois adjacent to Springfield. It is part of the Springfield Metropolitan Statistical Area. The population was 1,503 at the 2010 census.

Demographics

As of the census of 2010, there were 1,503 people, 677 households, and 442 families residing in the city. The population density was 2,385.7 people per square mile (922.1/km²). There were 677 housing units at an average density of 1,074.6 per square mile (415.3/km²). The racial makeup of the city was 95.68% White, 0.86% African American, 0.07% Native American, 1.46% Asian, 0.53% from other races, and 1.33% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 1.80% of the population.

There were 677 households out of which 21.1% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 57.6% were married couples living together, 5.9% had a female householder with no husband present, and 34.7% were non-families. 30.3% of all households were made up of individuals and 12.3% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.21 and the average family size was 2.75.
