The Independents may refer to:
The Independents (December 2013–January 2015) was an American television libertarian-focused talk show on Fox Business News (FBN). It was broadcast on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. The hosts of the show were Lisa Kennedy Montgomery, America's Future Foundation's Kmele Foster, and Reason magazine's Matt Welch.
The show featured roundtable discussions on the news of the day with a special emphasis on the protection of economic and civil liberties.
FBN cancelled the show on January 15, 2015.
The Independents (German: Die Unabhängigen, abbreviated DU), are a political grouping in Liechtenstein. In the 2013 parliamentary election, the first they contested, they won 29,740 votes (15.3%) and four seats in the Landtag. DU is headed by former Patriotic Union parliamentarian Harry Quaderer. DU is not a party in the traditional sense, having incorporated as a party solely to take advantage of the financial and political rights associated with that status; its platform calls for Members of the Landtag to be able to vote based on their own convictions rather than party pressures.
International commentators suggested that the party had benefited from protest votes against austerity measures.
Legion of Doom can refer to:
The Legion of Doom is a music production team and electronica group, famous for their download-only mash up album Incorporated, remixes, and original music for horror soundtracks.
The Legion of Doom consists of Chad Blinman and Trever Keith (of the California punk band Face to Face). Having worked together on many recording and production projects beginning in 1997, the two formed The Legion of Doom in 2004 to undertake a series of specialized creative projects.
The first of these projects was Incorporated, a mash-up album featuring mixes of various punk and hardcore bands. The album was completed in 2006, but due to some of the artists unwilling to allow the album to be released, the group recommended downloading the album after it was leaked from sources outside of the group off P2P Networks. On March 6, 2007 the album was released in physical format through Illegal Art.
The Legion of Doom has also contributed remixes and original music to film soundtracks such as Underworld: Evolution, Saw II and the Las Vegas TV Series. Other projects include the original score and music supervision for independent film "Eyes Front" and an album of original material (The Legion of Doom vs Triune).
The Legion of Doom was a forward line for the Philadelphia Flyers who played together between 1995 and 1997 comprising center Eric Lindros, left winger John LeClair and right winger Mikael Renberg. They were given this name not only for their offensive play, but also their ability to dominate games physically. The name was coined by journeyman center Jim Montgomery and popularized by Flyers announcer Gene Hart.
In the 1992-93 and 1993-94 seasons, Mark Recchi, Lindros, and Brent Fedyk had formed the productive "Crazy Eights" line. Renberg split his time playing left wing with Lindros and right wing with Rod Brind'Amour. Despite a strong start to the 1993-94 season, and emergent talents such as Lindros and Renberg, the Flyers fell apart in the second half of the year and narrowly missed the playoffs, the fifth consecutive time that the club didn't reach the postseason. This led to the firing of head coach Terry Simpson and general manager Russ Farwell. They were succeeded by Terry Murray and Bobby Clarke, respectively.
New Jersey bound
When sound asleep they'll find you
At your most vulnerable poll position
Speak up, let out
When down the street
The corner boys fuck shit up
Scream loud, scream Sayonara, oh, oh, oh
Sweet Josephine, will you follow me home?
Scream loud, scream Sayonara, oh, oh, oh
Sweet Josephine, will you fuck me back home?
(Just like the lady in a blue dress)
Speak up, let out
Caught in the crossfire
Compared to the step to the bone that might break
It's too late to find a better way out of this
With the finest regards that I lost
In the cracks of this street
(Just like the lady in a blue dress)
Scream loud, scream Sayonara, oh, oh, oh
(Wide open. Now you're dead and gone)
Sweet Josephine, will you follow me home?
Scream loud, scream Sayonara, oh, oh, oh
Sweet Josephine, will you fuck me back home?
When you're down on the floor bleeding, bastard
You'll be getting home real soon
(Just like the lady in a blue dress, you've got cigarettes on your breath)
And I'll pray for you high health
Don't let them scare you
When you're down on the floor bleeding, bastard
You'll be getting home real soon
(Hair spray and some cheap perfume)
(Hair spray and some cheap perfume)
You say that you want respect
Well then you better get some for yourself
(Scream loud, scream Sayonara, oh, oh, oh)
'Cause all that I see right now,
(Sweet Josephine, will you follow me home? )
Is someone who's lost and insecure
'Cause all that I see right now,
(Sweet Josephine, will you follow me home? )
