Lee Kelly

Lee Kelly (born 1932) is an American sculptor. His work is well-known throughout the West Coast of the United States, with more than 30 sculptures on display between Eugene, Oregon and Vancouver, Washington. Kelly has been called "Oregon's sculptor".

Personal life

Born in rural McCall in central Idaho, Kelly was raised near Riggins, Idaho. In the 1950s he graduated from what is now Portland State University before joining the United States Air Force and marrying Jeanette Bernhardt. During the late 1950s he attended Pacific Northwest College of Art in Portland, Oregon. Bernhardt and Kelly had one daughter Kassandra, but Bernhardt died in 1960 of cancer before Kassandra turned one.

In 1961, Kelly married Bonnie Bronson, and in 1963 they bought a 5-acre (2.0 ha) dairy farm near Oregon City, where as of 2010 Kelly still lived. Kelly and Bronson had a son, Jason, who died in 1978 of leukemia, while Bronson died climbing Mount Adams with Kelly in 1990.

Kelly (Australian TV series)

Kelly is an Australian children's television series that first screened on Network Ten in 1991. The series was produced by Jonathan M. Shiff Productions and featured the adventures of a former police dog called Kelly.

Plot

Kelly is a highly trained German Shepherd police dog who needs to recover from an injury on duty. Sergeant Mike Patterson sends him to stay with his son's family. Kelly becomes the constant companion of Jo Patterson, Mike's granddaughter, and her friend Danny Foster. Kelly has many classic adventures with the family and other friends, and was considered Australia's answer to 'Lassie' and 'The Littlest Hobo.

Kelly (Andrea Faustini album)

Kelly is the debut studio album by Italian singer Andrea Faustini. It was preceded by release of the single "Give a Little Love", the video for which premiered on 17 July 2015. Kelly debuted and peaked at number 14 on the UK Albums Chart.

Background

On 22 February 2015, it was announced that Faustini had signed a record deal with RCA Records and would be heading to Los Angeles to record his debut album, which would be released later in 2015.

Regarding the album, Faustini said: "I'm such a positive person, and I like to smile even in tough times. This is what life is about for me - be kind to the people you love (and the people you don't), and always smile... In other words, give a little love!"

Lead single "Give a Little Love" received its debut airplay on BBC Radio 2 on 2 June 2015.

One of the songs on the album, "What Would Dusty Do", was co-written by The Voice UK finalist Vince Kidd.

Li (surname 李)

Li (Chinese: 李; pinyin: Lǐ) is the second most common surname in China, behind only Wang. It is also one of the most common surnames in the world, shared by 93 million people in China, and more than 100 million worldwide. It is the fourth name listed in the Song dynasty classic text Hundred Family Surnames. Lee is a given name derived from the English surname Lee (which is ultimately from a placename derived from Old English leah "clearing; meadow"). As the surname of Robert E. Lee (1807-1870), the name became popular in the American South after the Civil War, its popularity peaking in 1900 at rank 39 as a masculine name, and in 1955 at rank 182 as a feminine name. The name's popularity declined steadily in the second half of the 20th century, falling below rank 1000 by 1991 as a feminine name, and to 666 as of 2012 as a masculine name. In the later 20th century, it also gained some popularity in the United Kingdom, peaking among the 20 most popular boys' names during the 1970s to 1980s, but it had fallen out of the top 100 by 2001.
