Lee Brice (born Kenneth Mobley Brice, Jr., June 10, 1979) is an American country music singer and songwriter signed to Curb Records. Brice has released three albums for the label: Love Like Crazy, Hard to Love, and I Don't Dance. He has also released eleven singles, of which four have charted at number 1 on Billboard Hot Country Songs and Country Airplay: "A Woman Like You", "Hard to Love", "I Drive Your Truck", and "I Don't Dance". He has also charted within the top 10 with "Love Like Crazy", "Parking Lot Party", and "Drinking Class". "Love Like Crazy" was the top country song of 2010 according to Billboard Year-End, and broke a 62-year-old record for the longest run on the country chart.

Besides his own material, he has co-written singles for Garth Brooks, Adam Gregory, Eli Young Band, and Tim McGraw. One of Brice's compositions, Brooks's "More Than a Memory", was the first song ever to debut at number 1 on the country chart, while another, Eli Young Band's "Crazy Girl", was the Billboard Year-End top country song of 2011.

Love Like Crazy

Love Like Crazy is the debut studio album by American country music singer Lee Brice. It was released on June 8, 2010, via Curb Records. Prior to the album's release, Brice charted three singles: "She Ain't Right," "Happy Endings" and "Upper Middle Class White Trash." The album's title track debuted in August 2009. The album's second single "Beautiful Every Time" released to radio on October 25, 2010.

Critical reception

Stephen Thomas Erlewine of Allmusic gave the album a two-and-a-half star rating out of five, criticizing the "pedestrian" production, but saying that Brice showed an "ability to seem like your own local boy made good." Giving it one-and-a-half stars out of five, Karlie Justus of Engine 145 thought that most of the songs were formulaic and the production "unpredictably jarring." Bobby Peacock of Roughstock was more positive, giving it four stars out of five. He thought that the songwriting was "cohesive" and that "Brice's irrefutable singing and songwriting talents come through clearly."

Love Like Crazy (song)

"Love Like Crazy" is a song written by Tim James and Doug Johnson, and recorded by American country music artist Lee Brice. It was released in August 2009 as the fourth single of his career, and the first single and title track from his album Love Like Crazy. In September 2010, the song broke a record established by Eddy Arnold for the longest chart run in the history of the Hot Country Songs charts.

Content

"Love Like Crazy" is a mid-tempo country song that gives a short biography of an older man, in which he takes several large risks criticized by those around him as "crazy" (such as quitting his job in order to go into computers). All of these seemingly questionable decisions end up paying off. In the chorus, the old man explains that his success was made possible by his faithful and loving wife; he then describes the rules of life that made his marriage as successful as it was.

Brice told Country Weekly magazine that he decided to record the song because its storyline reminded him of his own grandmother and grandfather, who were married to each other for more than 50 years.

Like Crazy

Like Crazy is a 2011 American romantic drama film directed by Drake Doremus and starring Anton Yelchin, Felicity Jones and Jennifer Lawrence. Written by Doremus and Ben York Jones, the film tells the story of Anna (Felicity Jones), a British exchange student who falls in love with an American student, Jacob (Yelchin), only to be separated from him when she is denied re-entry into the United States after staying in the country longer than her student visa allows.

Doremus based the storyline of the film partly on his own long-distance relationship with a woman living in London while he lived in Los Angeles. Rather than writing a traditional screenplay, he and Ben York Jones compiled a 50-page outline of the film from which the actors improvised almost all of the dialogue. Filming took place over four weeks in Los Angeles and London with a budget of US$250,000.

Like Crazy premiered on January 22, 2011 at the Sundance Film Festival, where it won the festival's Grand Jury Prize. It was released in theaters on October 28, 2011 and grossed over $3.5 million at the box office. Most reviews of the film were positive, with reviewers giving particular praise to the performances of Yelchin and Jones, although some found the plot unrealistic and contrived.
