Lecticans, also known as hyalectans, are a family of proteoglycans (a type protein that is attached to chains of negatively charged polysaccharides) that are components of the extracellular matrix. There are four members of the lectican family: aggrecan, brevican, neurocan, and versican. Lecticans interact with hyaluronan and tenascin-R to form a ternary complex.
Aggrecan is a major component of extracellular matrix in cartilage whereas versican is widely expressed in a number of connective tissues including those in vascular smooth muscle, skin epithelial cells, and the cells of central and peripheral nervous system. The expression of neurocan and brevican is largely restricted to neural tissues.
All four lecticans contain an N-terminal globular domain (G1 domain) that in turn contains an immunoglobulin V-set domain, a long extended central domain (CS) that is modified with covalently attached glycosaminoglycan chains, and a C-terminal globular domain (G3 domain) containing of one or more EGF repeats, a C-type lectin domain and a CRP-like domain. Aggrecan has in addition a globular domain (G2 domain) that is situated between the G1 and CS domains.
Friday morning all alone
One by one the stars each say goodbye
A thousand miles turning into song
Yeah pictures and a thousand words
And I want you to know
I feel lucky to know you
And you'll see that it's true
Cut open my heart
I want you to know
I feel lucky to know you
I feel lucky to know you
Yeah summer fades into fall
And with it
Came the writing on the wall
So I sent a thousand letters on the
Backs of silver angels through the sky
And I want you to know
Cut open my heart
I feel lucky to know you
And you'll see that it's true
I want you to know
I feel lucky to know you
I feel lucky to know you
And wrote another song for you
I took a drive it's what I do
The things we crave
The things we want
We have no choice the choice is made
And I want you to know
I feel lucky to know you
Cut open my heart
And you'll see that it's true
I want you to know
I feel lucky to know you
I feel lucky to know you
I feel lucky to know...
Friday morning all alone
And one by one
