Zki & Dobre, known by many aliases, but currently most well known as Chocolate Puma (alternatively as The Good Men and as The Goodmen), are a Dutch house music duo from Haarlem, Netherlands. They comprise Gaston Steenkist ("Dobre") and René ter Horst ("DJ Zki"). They have produced multiple dance hits under various group names since the early 1990s. Their biggest international hits remains "Give It Up in 1993 credited as The Good Men and "Who Do You Love Now?" in 2001 credited to Riva featuring Dannii Minogue. They also founded their own record label Pssst Music.

Career

As the Goodmen, their biggest hit was "Give It Up", a 1993 house music track based upon samba styled percussion and the simple, repeating vocal line of the song title. The percussion for the release was inspired by an earlier recording by Sérgio Mendes.

The song hit #1 on the US Billboard Hot Dance Club Play chart in 1993 and made a brief appearance on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart, peaking at #71. After being re-released in late 1993, it reached #5 in the UK Singles Chart.

The Belgariad

The title of each book combines a chess term with a fantasy term; whereas the concept of a 'Game of Destiny' is a significant motif in the story. The series has been reprinted as a two-volume set, titled The Belgariad Volume One, containing the first three books of the series, and The Belgariad Volume Two, which contains the last two books. This does not include the original map by Chris Barbieri, but only Shelly Shapiro's map.

The Malloreon is a five-book sequel to the Belgariad. Belgarath the Sorcerer (1995) and Polgara the Sorceress (1997) are prequels that share the setting and most characters. The Rivan Codex (1998) features annotated background material.

Lostprophets

Lostprophets /lɒstˈprɒfɪts/ were a Welsh rock band from Pontypridd formed in 1997. Founded by lead vocalist Ian Watkins, bassist (later guitarist) Mike Lewis, drummer Mike Chiplin and guitarist Lee Gaze, they were originally a side-project to hardcore punk band Public Disturbance. They were also part of the Cardiff music scene.

Lostprophets released five studio albums, with their final release Weapons released on 2 April 2012. The band achieved three Top 10 hits on the UK Singles Chart ("Last Train Home", and "Rooftops"), one number-one single on the Alternative Songs chart ("Last Train Home"), several Kerrang! Awards and nominations, and sold 3.5 million albums worldwide.

In December 2012, Watkins was charged with multiple sexual offences against children. The band cancelled all tour dates, and the other members announced the disbanding of Lostprophets in October 2013 before the end of Watkins' trial. Watkins pleaded guilty to several (but not all) charges in November 2013, and in December 2013 was sentenced to 29 years imprisonment plus six years on licence. In June 2014, the remaining members formed No Devotion with American singer Geoff Rickly as their lead vocalist.

Lately (Lisa Scott-Lee song)

"Lately" is the debut single from singer/songwriter Lisa Scott-Lee after the split of the pop group Steps. it was released on 12 May 2003 by Mercury Records UK and was written by Scott-Lee and Point 4. The single peaked at #6 in the UK charts, despite hot competition from Sophie Ellis Bextor and the Sugababes. "Lately" was also a successful dance track, peaking at #3 in the UK Dance Charts.

Background and Composition

Promoting the single Lisa Scott-Lee in an interview with Toazted stated, "Lately was one of the first songs I wrote after Steps when I wanted to go solo and I was very determined to get a record deal so I wanted to write, you know a really good song so that I could go round to different record companies and it was a very exciting time for me because my thinking of solo made me feel very nervous but I was excited and I.. you know when you get butterflies in your stomach? So I took that feeling and put it into a song. Lately is about when you meet somebody for the first time whether it's a boy or a girl and maybe you fancy each other and you get butterflies in your stomach and that's what Lately is about".

Lately (Stevie Wonder song)

"Lately" is a song by American singer Stevie Wonder recorded for his album Hotter than July (1980). The song was covered by R&B group Jodeci and released as a promotional single for the live album Uptown MTV Unplugged in June 1993.

Critical reception

Jason Elias at Allmusic retrospectively praised the song, believing that unlike some of Wonder's similar material, "Lately" in particular hit all the perfect emotional and musical notes. Of the song's emotional power itself Elias stated, "it's enough to make a listener fall prey to an old-fashioned cry."

Jodeci version

"Lately" was notably covered by R&B group Jodeci for the Uptown MTV Unplugged release in 1993. The group's version of the song was released as a promotional single, claiming the number one spot on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Singles & Tracks charts as the group's fourth R&B number one hit. It was also Jodeci's highest peaking pop hit, reaching number four on the Billboard Hot 100 in August of 1993. It sold 900,000 copies and was certified gold by the Recording Industry Association of America. This version also appears on Back to the Future: The Very Best of Jodeci, a greatest hits album from the group, released by Universal Records in 2005.
