Last words or final words are a person's final articulated words said prior to death or as death approaches.
Quotations of last words may not be the words spoken immediately before death, as these tend to reflect the mode of death. Last words may not be written down and accurately recorded, and they may not be quoted accurately for a variety of reasons.
Famous last words include both the literal sense such as the sayings of Jesus on the cross, "Et tu, Brute?" from Shakespeare's Julius Caesar, and Oscar Wilde's "My wallpaper and I are fighting a duel to the death. One or the other of us has to go", and the ironical sense of words said before a disaster, such as:
Last words are a person's final words spoken before death.

The Sayings of Jesus on the cross (also called the Seven Last Words from the Cross) are seven expressions biblically attributed to Jesus during his crucifixion. Traditionally, the brief sayings have been called "words". They are gathered from the four Canonical Gospels. Three of the sayings appear only in the Gospel of Luke and three only in the Gospel of John. The other saying appears both in the Gospel of Mark and the Gospel of Matthew. In Mark and Matthew, Jesus cries out to God. In Luke, he forgives his killers, reassures the penitent thief, and commends his spirit to the Father. In John, he speaks to his mother, says he thirsts, and declares the end of his earthly life.
A person's final articulated words said prior to death or as death approaches generally are taken to have particular significance in meaning. These seven sayings, being "last words", may provide a way to understand what was ultimately important to this man who was dying on the cross. The sparsity of sayings recorded in the biblical accounts suggests that Jesus remained relatively silent for the hours he hung there.
Man Alive is an Israeli punk rock band, formed in 1999 in Jerusalem, by members Jamie Hilsden on vocals and guitar, Jeremy Boyd on bass guitar and Joel Hilsden on drums.
The band was formed by vocalist and guitarist Jamie Hilsden, bassist Jeremy Boyd and drummer Joel Hilsden. The band was later accompanied by second guitarist Bethany Ridings.
In 2000, a year after forming, after Boyd and Ridings left the band, Jon Shkedi joined to play bass and Dave Shkedi joined to play guitar. Later, Joel left and was replaced briefly by Matthew R C Smith on drums before Yair Braun came on board.
The band quickly gained popularity in the Israeli punk scene, and decided to try to play outside of the country. While touring between Israel and the United States, the band independently released two albums, which helped build the band a fanbase in Europe, North America and Japan. In 2005, record producer Ed Rose (The Get Up Kids, Motion City Soundtrack) produced the band's third full length, Open Surgery, their most popular album to date. After the release of the album the band went on an extensive tour and in 2006 played more than 220 shows in North America and over 30 in Europe, including the Warped Tour.
Man Alive is the fourth full-length album by the Israeli punk rock band of the same name. It was released February 26, 2008 on B& Recordings in the United States and Europe. The album was released via High Fiber Productions in Israel and Bullion Records in Japan.
After the band's breakthrough 2005 album, Open Surgery, a follow-up album was much anticipated within the Israeli punk scene, and more than a year passed since the album was recorded in August 2006.
An EP containing five songs from the recording sessions was released in February 2007 via Smith Seven Records, titled Access Denied!. The EP contained the song "Proud to Be Un-American", also featured on the album.
An album release concert was held at the Tmuna Theater, Tel Aviv, Israel on February 29, 2008.
Man Alive is a 1945 film directed by Ray Enright and starring Pat O'Brien.
I guess there's nothing left for me to say
But I acknowledge you're not coming back to me
I'm dwelling on where I went wrong
I never thought I'd be the one
To go regretting all the things I said
Before you turned and walked away
Chorus:
I'll get over you
And there's nothing I can do
But lay here trying to get through
I waited this out far too patiently
I waited up for you to come to me
I can't express quite what it cost
