Brown (first name and dates unknown) was an English first-class cricketer associated with Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC) who was active in the 1810s. He is recorded in one match in 1814, totalling 11 runs with a highest score of 7 not out.

Splash! (UK TV series)

Splash! is a British television series that follows celebrities as they try to master the art of diving. The celebrities perform each week in front of a panel of judges and a live audience in an Olympic-size diving pool with the result each week partly determined by public vote. Gabby Logan and Vernon Kay present the show, whilst Team GB Olympic Bronze Medal winning diver Tom Daley is the expert mentor to the celebrities. It is filmed at the Inspire: Luton Sports Village, which is based in Stopsley, Luton. The show premiered on ITV on 5 January 2013 winning the ratings battle for its 7.15pm-8.15pm slot with an average audience of 5.6 million viewers, a network share of 23.6%, however, it was cancelled on 15 February 2014 after just two series.

The format for the show originated from the Celebrity Splash! franchise created by television production company Eyeworks in the Netherlands, and was broadcast on SBS 6 as Sterren Springen Op Zaterdag (Celebrities Jumping On Saturday).

"Lady" is a song written by Lionel Richie and first recorded by American country artist Kenny Rogers. It was released in September 1980 on the album Kenny Rogers' Greatest Hits.

It is listed at #47 on Billboard's All Time Top 100.

Song history

The song was written and produced by Lionel Richie, recorded in 1980, and ranks among Kenny Rogers's biggest hits. Rogers once told an interviewer, "The idea was that Lionel would come from R&B and I'd come from country, and we'd meet somewhere in pop." Lionel wrote the second sentence of the song while he was at the bathroom.

The success of "Lady" also boosted Richie's career. The production work on the song was his first outside the Commodores and foreshadowed his success as a solo act during the 1980s. Rogers was also a featured vocalist on "We Are the World", co-written by Richie. Richie performed the song himself on his 1998 album, Time, and he and Rogers performed the song as a duet on Richie's 2012 release "Tuskegee".

Lady (Lenny Kravitz song)

"Lady" is the final single from the 2004 album Baptism by American rock musician Lenny Kravitz. It was released on November 23, 2004. The song is believed to be written about Kravitz's then-girlfriend, Nicole Kidman. The track was used heavily in the GAP ads. The commercials featured Kravitz dancing and singing the song with his guitar to Sarah Jessica Parker.

Music video

The video was directed by Philip Andelman. It consists of Kravitz playing guitar and singing in a circular stage, while women are dancing around him. There are lights that change depending on the intensity of the sound of the song.

ABC made use of the song to promote its hit television series Alias in commercials that appeared in full length in movie theaters and in edited form on the network.

Lady (Dennis Wilson song)

"Lady" is a song written by Dennis Wilson, recorded by him with Daryl Dragon and released under the name "Dennis Wilson & Rumbo" in the United Kingdom on 4 December, 1970, on Stateside Records. The song served as the B-side of the "Sound of Free" single. The single was not issued in the United States.

The single was Dennis Wilson's first solo release. On both songs, Wilson performed the lead vocals with Daryl Dragon playing instruments. Dragon and his wife, Toni Tennille, would later become famous as Captain & Tennille.

Proposed releases

Also known as "Fallin' In Love", the song was reportedly originally written for the unreleased Beach Boys' album Add Some Music. That album later evolved into the 1970 release Sunflower, which did not include "Lady". The song has also been rumoured to have been considered for the album that became Surf's Up, but again passed over for the eventual release.

Although a fairly obscure song, it was performed by The Beach Boys, as seen on the 25 February, 1971 edition of The David Frost Show. When asked what inspired the song, Dennis replied, "My lovely wife, she's an inspiration." Dennis was at the time married to Barbara Charren.
