In 1560 his forces aided the Azai clan at the Battle of Norada against the Rokkaku. He fought his archenemy until the end, when he died in battle with them.
The unincorporated area has been within La Quinta’s sphere of influence, a term used by city planners to identify an area of future growth and possible annexation, since 2006.
