  • Donna (10cc song)

"Donna" is the first single by British art pop band 10cc. Released in 1972, it peaked at No. 2 on the UK Singles Chart. The song was written by Kevin Godley and Lol Creme.

"Donna", a parody of doo wop songs (see also "Donna" by Ritchie Valens), was originally written as a potential B-side to the song "Waterfall". The song features sharp contrasts between falsetto in the chorus (Creme) and deep monotone vocals (Godley) in the verse. The style in which "Oh! Donna..." is performed mimics that of the track "Oh! Darling" by the Beatles, from their album Abbey Road.

Band member Eric Stewart has said: "We knew it had something. We only knew of one person who was mad enough to release it, and that was Jonathan King." The song was subsequently released on King's UK Records label. The band had considered releasing it under the name of "Doctor Father Part Two", resurrecting a band name they had used for their 1970 song "Umbopo". Band manager Harvey Lisburg said there was "a vague sort of plan at that time to keep on bringing out records under different names until they got a hit".

    DWYC

DWYC, broadcasting as Radyo5 88.7 News FM Cabanatuan was an FM radio station owned by Nation Broadcasting Corporation and operated by TV5 in the Philippines. The station's studio is located at Brgy. Poblacion, Cabanatuan.

    History

In 1984, 88.7 was born as MRS - "Most Requested Song" which featured soft pop, ballads, fairly adult contemporary. MRS 92.3 quickly became one of the top rated stations on FM and kept that distinction throughout most of its life, MRS was one of a handful of FM stations in Manila that defined the very popular adult contemporary format for a long time.

The company took on new owners in the mid-90's when the Yabut family sold the whole network (both FM and AM) to then real estate magnate Manny Villar. The station managed to maintain its original format without any changes.

In 1998, NBC was acquired by MediaQuest Holdings Inc. (which now subsidiary of the telecom giant, Philippine Long Distance Telephonce Company). With the new owners came a new management team, a new corporate logo and a new sound.
