DOS /dɒs/, short for disk operating system, is an acronym for several computer operating systems that were operated by using the command line.
MS-DOS dominated the IBM PC compatible market between 1981 and 1995, or until about 2000 including the partially MS-DOS-based Microsoft Windows (95, 98, and Millennium Edition). "DOS" is used to describe the family of several very similar command-line systems, including MS-DOS, PC DOS, DR-DOS, FreeDOS, ROM-DOS, and PTS-DOS.
In spite of the common usage, none of these systems were simply named "DOS" (a name given only to an unrelated IBM mainframe operating system in the 1960s). A number of unrelated, non-x86 microcomputer disk operating systems had "DOS" in their names, and are often referred to simply as "DOS" when discussing machines that use them (e.g. AmigaDOS, AMSDOS, ANDOS, Apple DOS, Atari DOS, Commodore DOS, CSI-DOS, ProDOS, and TRSDOS). While providing many of the same operating system functions for their respective computer systems, programs running under any one of these operating systems would not run under others.
USS LST-310 was one of 390 tank landing ships (LSTs) built for the United States Navy during World War II.
LST-310 was laid down on 22 September 1942 at the Boston Navy Yard; launched on 23 November 1942; sponsored by Mrs. Inga M. Gustavson; and commissioned on 20 January 1943 with Lieutenant W. P. Lawless, USNR, in command.
During World War II, LST-310 was assigned to the European Theater and participated in the Sicilian occupation in July, 1943 the landings at Salerno in September, 1943 and the Invasion of Normandy in June, 1944.
Upon her return to the United States, she was decommissioned on 16 May 1945 for conversion to landing craft repair ship USS Aeolus (ARL-42) at the Boston Navy Yard. The conversion was canceled 12 September 1945 and the ship reverted to LST-310; she was struck from the Naval Vessel Register on 12 March 1946. On 28 January 1947 the ship was sold to the Boston Metals Company of Baltimore, Maryland for conversion to merchant service.
She was sold (date unknown) to the Panama Navigation Corporation, and subsequently named MV Mercator' and re-flagged as Panamanian. Sometime prior to 1963 the ship was sold to Navemar S. A. (name retained) and re-flagged Argentine. Her final fate is unknown.
The USS Mahoning County (LST-914) was an LST-542-class tank landing ship built for the United States Navy during World War II. Named after Mahoning County, Ohio, she was the only U.S. Naval vessel to bear the name.
Originally laid down as LST-914 by the Bethlehem Shipyard annex in Hingham, Massachusetts, adjacent to Fore River Shipyard on 16 February 1944; launched 18 April 1944; and commissioned 18 May 1944 with Lieutenant A. W. Meyer in command.
LST‑914 first engaged in combat duty with the invasion of southern France 15 August 1944. She carried Army troops and equipment from Naples, Italy and unloaded them on the beach near Cape Lardier. Shortly afterward the LST joined Training Group Command, Atlantic Fleet, and operated along the east and gulf coasts until early in 1945. On 10 February 1945, she departed Gulfport, Mississippi, for the Canal Zone en route to duty with the Pacific Fleet. Steaming via Pearl Harbor and Eniwetok, she arrived Saipan 25 April. For the next 4 months the ship carried men and equipment between Saipan and Okinawa, making occasional calls at Tinian and Guam. She departed Saipan 24 July and sailed for the Philippines, operating there for the remainder of the War. LST‑914 continued to operate in the Western Pacific after the Japanese surrender. On 26 June 1946 she decommissioned and was lent to the United States Army. She was then given a Japanese crew and for the next 4 years transported general cargo in the Far East.
Espérame está noche,
brindaré una excusa a su medida
me iré sin un reproche
porque prefiere creer en mis
mentiras
me encontraré a las 12:00,
la blanca luna llena servirá de guía,
me llevara hasta tus caricias para
que cumpla con mis fantasías,
ya sabes que te quiero pero no se
como escapar porque conmigo el
fue muy bueno y no lo puedo
abandonar
aunque me pierda en tú deseo
tengo en sus brazos un hogar,
un techo, un pan y amor sincero
porque cambiar ahora no,no,no
yo soy así, llevo grabadas
dos flechas en el corazón ( enamorada)
yo siempre digo si, estoy atada, no hay
nada que me impida estar enamorada
de los dos
llevo grabadas dos flechas en el corazón
yo soy así, llevo grabadas
dos flechas en el corazón ( enamorada)
yo siempre digo si, estoy atada, no hay
nada que me impida estar enamorada
de los dos
regresaré cansada él notará
una sombra en mi mirada,
después me dormiré a su lado,
y la mañana será otra mañana,
mil veces volverás a verme paseando
de su mano en una tarde fría
entiéndeme por ti me muero
pero disfruto de su compañía
ya sabes que te quiero pero no se
como escapar porque conmigo el
fue muy bueno y no lo puedo
abandonar
aunque me pierda en tú deseo
tengo en sus brazos un hogar,
un techo, un pan y amor sincero
porque cambiar ahora no,no,no
yo soy así, llevo grabadas
dos flechas en el corazón ( enamorada)
yo siempre digo si, estoy atada, no hay
nada que me impida estar enamorada
