Processor

The LG Optimus G Pro features a Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 APQ8064 SoC with a Quad-core Krait processor clocked at 1.7 GHz. The processor is based on 28 nm semiconductor technology with Adreno 320 graphics processor running at 400 MHz.

Memory

The LG Optimus G Pro has 2 GB of RAM and 16\32 GB of internal storage which may be expanded via a microSD card up to 64 GB.

Screen

The phone features a 5.5" True HD IPS LCD of 1080x1920 resolution and displaying 16,777,216 colors at ~401 PPI pixel density.

Cameras

The LG Optimus G Pro has a 13 MP back-illuminated camera sensor and a single LED flash for both AT&T and Sprint. The phone is also capable of recording FullHD 1080p video at 30 FPS. The phone also features a front-facing 2.1 MP camera, capable of recording HD 720p video at 30 FPS. The Indian LG Optimus G Pro features a 13 MP camera. The camera supports digital zoom of up to 8X magnification.

The LG Optimus G is a smartphone designed and manufactured by LG Electronics. It was announced on September 19, 2012; On January 18, 2013, LG announced that the device reached 1 million in sales four months after its release in Korea, Japan, Canada, and the U.S. The LG Optimus G is also closely related to the Nexus 4 with similar specifications and a similar design.

Availability

North America

In the United States, the Optimus G is available through AT&T and Sprint. AT&T carries the 8-megapixel camera E970 model while Sprint offers the LS970 model, equipped with a 13-megapixel camera. The AT&T model is the only currently-announced Optimus G model to feature a microSD-card memory expansion slot. These models were released on November 2 (AT&T) and November 11 (Sprint).

In Canada, the LG Optimus G will be available from the country's three major mobile providers: Rogers Wireless, Bell Mobility and Telus Mobility, offering the E971 and E973 models respectively. Rogers will be that country's only provider to sell the Optimus G with LTE band 7 2600 MHz support, as opposed to the more common AWS (band 4) and band 17 700 MHz LTE frequencies used by other North American carriers. This extra spectrum enables theoretical download speeds of up to 100 Mbit/s where available.

Louisville Gas & Electric (LG&E) is a utilities company based in Louisville, Kentucky. A subsidiary of PPL Corporation through the LG&E and KU Energy subsidiary, LG&E serves over 350,000 electric and over 300,000 natural gas customers, covers an area of 700 square miles (1800 km²), and has a total regulated electric generation capacity of 3,514 megawatts.

History

LG&E was formed in 1838 as Louisville Gas and Water, but dropped its plans to provide water utilities in 1842 changing its name simply to Louisville Gas. LG&E was originally formed by investors with the intention of providing gas-fired street lighting which had been mandated in order to help prevent crime. In 1890 LG&E (Louisville Gas at this point) amended its charter to buy stock in electric companies and acquired Louisville Electric light. In 1913, Louisville Gas, Louisville Lighting, and Kentucky Heating merged to form Louisville Gas & Electric (LG&E).

In 1990, LG&E reorganized itself as a holding company LG&E Energy Corporation. In 1998, LG&E Energy merged with the other major electric utility in Kentucky, Kentucky Utilities. In 2000, LG&E Energy was bought by British utility company Powergen. In 2002, Powergen was bought by the German company E.ON. In 2003, LG&E Energy changed its name to E.ON US. Finally, in 2010, E.ON US was bought by PPL Corporation. PPL changed the name of the company to LG&E and KU Energy LLC.
