Kyle Abbott

Lawrence Kyle Abbott (born February 18, 1968) is a former professional baseball player. In an eight-year career, Abbott played four seasons for the California Angels and Philadelphia Phillies of Major League Baseball, as well as one season for the Kintetsu Buffaloes of Nippon Professional Baseball. He was officially listed as standing 6 feet 4 inches (193 cm) and weighing 200 pounds (91 kg).

Biography

Early life

Abbott was born in Newburyport, Massachusetts. Abbott attended high school at Mission Viejo High School in Mission Viejo, California, before attending college at University of California, San Diego from 1987 until 1988. Abbott transferred to California State University, Long Beach in 1989, where he led his team to the College World Series for the first time in team history.

Career

Abbott began his baseball career with the California Angels, who drafted Abbott with the ninth pick of the 1989 Major League Baseball Draft. After signing with the Angels, Abbot played the 1989 season for the Quad Cities Angels, a minor league affiliate of the Angels. In 73.2 innings pitched, Abbott recorded five wins and four losses with an earned run average (ERA) of 2.57. Baseball America ranked Abbott as the 60th-best minor league prospect for the 1990 season.

Kyle Abbott is American shamisen player committed to promote the instrument to English-speaking players. Author and self-publisher of the book Shamisen of Japan, a comprehensive manual to teach how to build and play the Tsugaru shamisen. Founder of Bachido website (named after the bachi, special plectrum used to strike the strings) that includes video lessons, e-shop, discussion forum and information about workshop camp ShamiCamp.

Abbott recorded in and produced two Monsters of Shamisen albums, Stellar (2013) and Resonance (2014), and also recorded and produced his own solo album, The Cuckoo (2014).

Kyle Abbott (cricketer)

Kyle John Abbott (born 18 June 1987) is a South African first-class cricketer who plays for Dolphins in domestic cricket. He is a right-arm fast-medium bowler. He has played for the South Africa A cricket team.

International appearance

He was named as the replacement for the injured Jacques Kallis in the South Africa national cricket team for the third Test against Pakistan in February 2013. He took seven wickets on debut in the 3rd Test against Pakistan in February 2013, where he adjudged man of the match as well. These were the ninth best figures of all time for a debutant in test cricket.

Domestic career

In 2006 and 2007 Kyle played his cricket for an English seaside town Clevedon Cricket Club which played in the West of England Premier League - Bristol Somerset. This was where he was recognized by Somerset CCC and represented their second team.

In 2015 Abbott was bought by the Chennai Super Kings in the IPL8 auction. He was included in the KZN Inland squad for the 2015 Africa T20 Cup.In 2016 Abbott was bought by the Kings XI Punjab in the the IPL 9 auction.

Kyle Abbott (The Young and the Restless)

Kyle Jenkins Abbott is a fictional character from the American CBS soap opera The Young and the Restless. Born onscreen on January 8, 2001, the character is the son of businessman Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) and Diane Jenkins (Maura West). For the character's first three-year run, he was portrayed by a series of infant toddler actors. In 2010, the character returned, portrayed as slightly older by child actor Garrett Ryan. After two years, he was rapidly aged to an adult, with Blake Hood stepping into the role in April 2012. Upon his return, Kyle began dating Eden Baldwin (Jessica Heap).

In March 2013, after a year in the role, Hood was let go and announced to be replaced by Hartley Sawyer. The soap opera had initially issued a casting call for a character named Connor Boyd, and due to his characteristics resembling that of Kyle, his casting was kept quiet. Hood stated that his ouster came as a shock to him. Sawyer made his debut on April 24, 2013. The character's six-year absence was criticized, and his age upon his 2010 return received unfavorable reviews. Hood was positively received in the role, and the decision to release him and replace him with Sawyer has also been criticized. Australian actor Lachlan Buchanan took claim of the role in 2015, making his first appearance on February 25.
