Kudal

Kudal is a census town in Sindhudurg district, Maharashtra, India. It is situated on Karli River in southwest Maharashtara. Kudal is the second-largest town in Sindhudurg after Sawantwadi. As of 2011, the population is more than 25,000. Kudal supports one MIDC area. A railway station in Kudal on the KRCL route connects Mumbai and Mangalore. It is a major stop for the Konkan Railway with many trains having a halt. The Deccan Odyssey train also stops in Kudal. National Highway 17 passes through Kudal. Apart from that, it also has two bus stations, a new one and old one. The old one is situated in market while the new one is just adjacent to the NH-17.

Prominence

The town is considered as one of the most antique settlements of the Konkan Region. It is also a famous market for Alphonso Mango, which is exported to different cities in the world. The town is also renowned for the annual Jatra Fair which is organized at the Kudaleshwar temple. There are a number of attractions which lure a large number of people every year from all across the country. Some of the prominent attractions in the town include the Rangana Garh Fort, Shree Devi Laxmi Mandir, Deo Dongar Machhindranath Mandir, Shree Dev Bhairav Temple, The Shree Maruti Mandir, Shree Devi Bhavani Mandir, Ghodebao and St. John Bosco Church.

Kudal (Satara)

Kudal (कुडाळ) is a village in the Satara district, Maharashtra, India. It is surrounded by a river called Niranjana or Kudali. There is a big temple of 'Pimpleshwar' at the river coast. It is a village surrounded by natural beauty with greenery of farms all around. Agriculture is the main land use in the village with more than 75% of the total area being used for agricultural activities. The village has a close view to the historic Vairatgad Fort.
