History

KBOP-CA was a Spanish language station known as Mi San Diego TV, programmed by KNSD, an NBC affiliate co-owned by NBC Universal and LIN Television, now an NBC owned-and-operated station. Much of the programming for KBOP-CA originated from Los Angeles Spanish independent station KWHY-TV, now a MundoFox affiliate, including its newscasts, Noticias 22, weekdays at 5 PM and weekends at 7 PM and 10 PM. However, KBOP-CA aired its own newscasts, Noticias Mi San Diego TV 43, weekdays at 7 PM and 10 PM. The station also provided Spanish-language broadcasts of San Diego Padres baseball games during the season and San Diego Chargers pre-season football games. In overnight hours (approximately 12:30 AM to 6:30 AM), KBOP-CA carried the Shop At Home shopping channel feed. In addition, to reach more viewers, KBOP was seen on digital cable on Cox channel 143 and Time Warner Cable channel 343.

KSEX

KSEX, also known as, KSEXradio, was an online radio station whose programming was about pornography, the adult industry, and other sexual topics, it was one of the only adult Internet radio stations specializing in news and current events in the United States pornography industry. The current company is a successor to the original broadcaster. The name is an imitation of the four-letter call signs used by U.S. radio stations; those beginning with K- are located in the west of the country.

Original radio company

Originally run out of a garage in the San Diego area, KSEX radio was purchased by a group that used to own the CyberSynergism affiliate program and content provider. It was managed by voice actor and radio personality Wayne C. Lewis, who uses the on-air name Wankus (who was later made part owner), a name he used also in mainstream when he played the part of Prowl in the Fox hit, Transformers: Robots in Disguise. Wankus was fired from the station publicly while on air in May 2007.
