Konde is a name and surname found worldwide mainly in Africa, Asia, and USA. It is also found in Maharashtra state of India. Some of them belong to Maratha caste whereas some to other castes. In case of surname Konde with Maratha caste have originated from Konde Deshmukh.

Konde Deshmukh is one of the Royal Maratha 96k surnames.[citation needed] Deshmukh is honourary title in the Maratha Community. Royal 96k clans used to marry with these Deshmukhs within 96k and apart it.

Konde deshmukhs are from a village of Khed Shivapur and from various other parts of pune district. Some of Konde families of Khed Shivapur moved to Dhamankhel village in junnar taluka of pune district around 1800.

Kondé

Kondé is an arrondissement in the Donga department of Benin. It is an administrative division under the jurisdiction of the commune of Ouaké. According to the population census conducted by the Institut National de la Statistique Benin on February 15, 2002, the arrondissement had a total population of 5,472.
