Koi

Koi (鯉, English /ˈkɔɪ/, Japanese: [koꜜi]) or more specifically nishikigoi (錦鯉, [niɕi̥kiꜜɡo.i], literally "brocaded carp"), are a group of fish that are ornamental varieties of domesticated common carp (Cyprinus carpio) that are kept for decorative purposes in outdoor koi ponds or water gardens.

Koi varieties are distinguished by coloration, patterning, and scalation. Some of the major colors are white, black, red, yellow, blue, and cream. The most popular category of koi is the Gosanke, which is made up of the Kohaku, Taisho Sanshoku, and Showa Sanshoku varieties.

History

Carp are a large group of fish originally found in Central Europe and Asia. Various carp species were originally domesticated in East Asia, where they were used as food fish. Carp are coldwater fish, and their ability to survive and adapt to many climates and water conditions allowed the domesticated species to be propagated to many new locations, including Japan. Natural color mutations of these carp would have occurred across all populations. Carp were first bred for color mutations in China more than a thousand years ago, where selective breeding of the Prussian carp (Carassius gibelio) led to the development of the goldfish.

Koi (Pakistan)

Koi is a village in Kotli District, Pakistan.

This is close to where the famous battle of Dabrian took place. A few heavily armed Dogra soldiers managed to escape to Jammu by following the path of the river Mhool.

Kepler-452

Kepler-452 is a G-class star located about 1400 light-years away from Earth in the constellation of Cygnus. It has a similar temperature as the Sun, but is 20 percent brighter, 3.7 percent more massive and has a 11 percent larger diameter. Its gravity is 4.32±0.09 cgs. The star is also 1.5 billion years older than the Sun, having an age of about six billion years. Therefore, it is in a more advanced state in its evolution, but is still in the main sequence.

Planetary system

It has at least one confirmed exoplanet, Kepler-452b, discovered in July 2015 by the Kepler spacecraft.

KOI-3138.01 is a Mars-sized (subterran) exoplanet candidate orbiting the red dwarf KOI-3138 219 ly from the Sun. KOI-3138 is apparently smaller, cooler, and dimmer than Proxima Centauri. It is the first known Mars-sized exoplanet that is potentially habitable.

Kepler-296e

Kepler-296e (also known by its Kepler Object of Interest designation KOI-1422.05) is a confirmed Earth-sized exoplanet orbiting within the habitable zone of Kepler-296. The planet was discovered by NASA's Kepler spacecraft using the transit method, in which the dimming effect that a planet causes as it crosses in front of its star is measured. NASA announced the discovery of the exoplanet on 26 February 2014.

Confirmed exoplanet

Kepler-296e is a super-Earth with a radius 1.75 times that of Earth. The planet orbits Kepler-296 once every 34.1 days.

Habitability

The planet was announced as being located within the habitable zone of Kepler-296, a region where liquid water could exist on the surface of the planet. It is the second-most Earth-like planet after Kepler-438b, with an ESI of 0.85.
