Who You Are (Jessie J song)

"Who You Are" is a song by British singer-songwriter Jessie J, released as the sixth overall single from her debut studio album of the same name. Background

"The other day I had a girl message me saying 'I was ready to take my life and then I heard "Who You Are"'. That pressure is beautiful but scary at the same time. I want to be a positive role model for young people. I always say that I'm half-artist, half-therapist. I'm very much someone that lives to be happy. It's not just about the parties and I know so-and-so – I'm not that girl. So I looked in the mirror and started to cry and said 'who am I?' Music is my therapy."

Slade (originally known as The N'Betweens and now Slade II) are an English glam rock band from Wolverhampton/Walsall. They rose to prominence during the early 1970s with 17 consecutive top 20 hits and six number ones. The British Hit Singles & Albums names them as the most successful British group of the 1970s based on sales of singles. They were the first act to achieve three singles enter at number one; all six of the band's chart-toppers were penned by Noddy Holder and Jim Lea. Total UK sales stand at 6,520,171, and their best-selling single, "Merry Xmas Everybody", has sold in excess of one million copies.

Following an unsuccessful move to the United States in 1975, Slade's popularity waned but was unexpectedly revived in 1980 when they were last minute replacements for Ozzy Osbourne at the Reading Rock Festival. The band later acknowledged this to have been one of the highlights of their career. The original line up split in 1992 but the band reformed the following year as Slade II. The band has continued, with a number of line-up changes, to the present day. They have now shortened the group name back to Slade.

    Know Who You Are

    by: Supertramp

    Know who you are...
There's a world wants to know you
    Know where to go...
There's a world wants to touch you
    Feel all you can...
Let your heart speak and guide you
    Don't be afraid...
Of the love deep inside you
    Bring it out for everyone
When you smile we can see the sun
Bring it out for all to hear
Because you've so much to give
And there's so much to know
But if you wait for your moment
    Well, it may never show
    Know who you are...
There's a new song inside you
    Weep if you can...
Let the tears fall behind you
    Bring it out for everyone
When you smile we can see the sun
Sing it out for all to hear
Because you've so much to say
And you've so much to do
    And everyone's waiting
Yes, it's all up to you
    Know who you are...
There's a world deep inside you
    Trust if you can
