Klin (air base)

Klin is an air base in Russia located 4 km north of Klin. It is halfway between Moscow and Tver, with many military transport types (Il-76, An-12, An-26, Tu-134, etc.) in service. The airfield was active until the 1990s. Many aircraft remains are still stored on the airfield.

Brinkster.com lists the airfield as home to the 78th Separate Military Aviation Squadron of the 61st Air Army, the former Military Transport Aviation.

During the 1970s an unknown Interceptor Aviation Regiment (IAP) was stationed at Klin flying Su-15TM and MiG-23M aircraft. This regiment was disbanded in 1979.

Klin (mountain)

Klin (sk. Klin, pl. Starorobociański Wierch) is a peak in the Western Tatras, on the border between Slovakia and Poland. Its summit is at 2,176 m AMSL. It is the highest peak in Polish Western Tatras. The foreground is a classic split ridge or doppelgrat, spreading under tension due to deep erosion in the valleys either side. The finest example in the Tatra is between Kamienista and Smreczynski Wierch nearby.

Base (geometry)

In geometry, a base is a side of a polygon or a face of a polyhedron, particularly one oriented perpendicular to the direction in which height is measured, or on what is considered to be the "bottom" of the figure. This term is commonly applied to triangles, parallelograms, trapezoids, cylinders, cones, pyramids, parallelepipeds and frustums.

Role in area and volume calculation

Bases are commonly used (together with heights) to calculate the areas and volumes of figures. In speaking about these processes, the measure (length or area) of a figure's base is often referred to as its "base."

By this usage, the area of a parallelogram or the volume of a prism or cylinder can be calculated by multiplying its "base" by its height; likewise, the areas of triangles and the volumes of cones and pyramids are fractions of the products of their bases and heights. Some figures have two parallel bases (such as trapezoids and frustums), both of which are used to calculate the extent of the figures.

Dress shirt

A dress shirt, button shirt, button-front, button-front shirt, button-down, button-down shirt, or button-up shirt is a garment with a collar and a full-length opening at the front, which is fastened using buttons or shirt studs.

Dress shirts are normally made from woven cloth, and are often accompanied by a jacket, collar sleeve, and tie, for example with a suit or formalwear, but shirts are also worn more casually.

In British English, "dress shirt" means specifically the more formal evening garment worn with black- or white-tie. Some of these formal shirts have stiff fronts and detachable collars attached with collar studs.

Traditionally dress shirts were worn by men and boys, whereas women and girls often wore blouses or, sometimes, known as chemises. However, in the mid-1800s, they also became an item of women's clothing and are worn by both sexes today.

The term "button-down" refers to a type of shirt which has a collar fastened down by buttons, but is sometimes used in error to apply to all dress shirts.

AIR (nightclub)

AIR was a 2,000 capacity superclub located in Digbeth, Birmingham in England. AIR originally started out life as a spray shop for buses, when in 2000 the building was bought by Godskitchen and converted into a club, originally named CODE. In 2003, CODE had a complete refit and was renamed AIR, with an extra room of music being added to the two already in use. The club features state-of-the-art lighting and sound systems and in addition to Saturday nights Godskitchen AIR has hosted parties by Helter Skelter, Babooshka, Polysexual, Raveology, Hardcore Til I Die & Atomic Jam.

AIR is situated in an area of Digbeth synonymous with club culture, the "Custard Factory Quarter", named after the nearby Custard Factory, a centre for music and arts. Adjacent to the Custard Factory is the HMV Institute (formerly the Digbeth Institute), the original home of Godskitchen.

The 20-year lease contract originally taken out by Angel Music Group still remains in place but since 6 May 2012 the club has remained closed due to the slow demise of the Godskitchen brand caused mainly by a lack of direction and leadership and the high costs imposed by the Custard Factory landlords making it far cheaper to keep the doors closed than to open them.

Air 500

Air 500 Inc. was a Canadian airline. Founded in 1988,the airline was operated a fleet of 1 Beechcraft 99, 1 Douglas C-47 and 1 Mitsubishi MU-2. It ceased operations in April 2007.
