Klein + M.B.O.

Klein + M.B.O. were an Italian post-disco musical group formed by producers, songwriters and arrangers Mario Boncaldo (from Italy) and Tony Carrasco (from USA). Rossana Casale, a jazz singer along with American chorus singer Naimy Hacket, provided vocals on their records.

They are best known for their single "Dirty Talk" which was originally released in Milan, Italy in 1982. It became an international underground hit. Further single releases such as "Wonderful", "More Dirty Talk", "The MBO Theme" and others continues in a similar vein. Some of their songs were published in the United States by Atlantic Records.

The first and only Klein + M.B.O. album was released initially as De-Ja-Vu and then later as First. The album was recorded using Roland synthesizers and a Roland TR-808 drum machine and featured Davide Piatto on guitar.

Some people say "Dirty Talk" is the first Chicago house record, because it was played in underground Chicago clubs by DJs, and that Italo disco records such as "Dirty Talk" inspired local producers. French recording duo Miss Kittin & The Hacker covered "Dirty Talk" for their 1998 EP Champagne.

Borate

Borates are the name for a large number of boron-containing oxyanions. The term "borates" may also refer to tetrahedral boron anions, or more loosely to chemical compounds which contain borate anions of either description. Larger borates are composed of trigonal planar BO₃ or tetrahedral BO₄ structural units, joined together via shared oxygen atoms and may be cyclic or linear in structure. Boron most often occurs in nature as borates, such as borate minerals and borosilicates.

Structures

The simplest borate anion, the orthoborate ion, BO₃³⁻ is known in the solid state, for example in Ca₃(BO₃)₂. In this it adopts a near trigonal planar structure. It is a structural analogue of the carbonate anion CO₃²⁻, with which it is isoelectronic. Simple bonding theories point to the trigonal planar structure. In terms of valence bond theory the bonds are formed by using sp²hybrid orbitals on boron. Some compounds termed orthoborates do not necessarily contain the trigonal planar ion, for example gadolinium orthoborate, GdBO₃ contains the polyborate (B₃O₉)⁹⁻ ion, whereas the high temperature form contains planar BO₃³⁻.
